Abbey's Protectors [Beckett's Wolf Pack, Triad Mates 4] (Siren Publishing Menage & More) (57 page)

The next contraction happened quickly. Hunter and Clay helped Abbey to sit up and held her in place as their amazing mate pushed with all her strength to deliver their son.

“Abbey,” Hunter whispered, unable to finish his sentence.

“Tell me later,” Abbey told him, taking a deep breath and bearing down with every bit of strength that she had.

As the sun rose, casting colors of pink and blue over the mountains, their son was born.

Abbey bobbed gently in the pool, smiling at her son as he gurgled happily as he splashed and kicked in the water. Leaning forward, she kissed his cheek tenderly, laughing when he reached out and grabbed her hair, fisting it in his mouth and sucking on it.

“You are just the most precious baby boy I have ever seen,” she told him happily.

She smiled at the features that he had obviously inherited from his fathers. He had Hunter’s black hair and Clay’s blue eyes. He had the disposition of an angel, and his sweet laughter and cheerful personality gave all three of them mindless happiness. He was absolutely perfect.

Hunter came out onto the back deck, stepping down into the pool and making his way over to her, smiling as he took his place by her side. He leaned forward and kissed his baby’s cheek, smiling against him as their son turned toward him and grabbed for his face. Hunter took the baby into his arms and held him securely against his chest.

“Love you, cub,” he whispered, kissing him again.

“He loves you, too, Hunter,” Abbey told him, reaching out and carding her fingers through his hair.

“By the Fates, I love him so much, Abbey,” Hunter told her, tracing the delicate eyebrows of their baby son.

“How can you help it, Hunter?” Clay asked him as he entered the pool and carefully waded over to them, leaning forward and kissing their son’s cheek sloppily. The baby giggled and reached out with his little hand and slapped at Clay’s face happily, causing all three of them to laugh.

“My father came to me in a dream last night,” Abbey told them quietly. “He thanked me for giving him a grandson to love. He also said how honored he was that we named our son after him.”

When she looked at her mates, she saw the loving smiles on their faces. Leaning toward them, she kissed each of them gently, whispering against their lips how much she loved them.

“Abbey,” Clay whispered, reaching out to touch her cheek lightly.

Abbey looked at him and winked. “What, Poppa?”

The words Clay was about to speak vanished with the emotion he felt at being referred to as ‘poppa’ completely overwhelmed him and filled him with happiness.

Abbey turned to face Hunter and smiled. “Did you have something to say, Daddy?” she asked him softly.

Hunter’s face softened as she called him ‘daddy’ and made his heart soar with love. Abbey knew her men were completely happy with their roles as fathers, and they both looked forward to bringing more children into the world with her.

“Neither of you have to say anything,” she told them gently. “I know what’s in your heart. I know how much you love our son and how much you love me.”

“We do, baby,” Clay answered for both of them.

“That’s good, because I love you both, too,” she told them, leaning forward to kiss them both quickly.

Their son took that moment to giggle and kick his legs out happily, splashing them all. The three of them looked at him and smiled. When Hunter and Clay looked up at Abbey and saw how she was looking at them so seriously, they reached out and touched her hands gently.

“When the beautiful lady told me you were going to find me and be the men who were meant to be mine, I honestly never thought it was possible. But I was wrong. You’re more than I could have ever hoped for. I’m so thankful that you’re mine.”

“We feel the same about you, sweetheart,” Hunter told her softly.

“You’re the perfect mate for us, honey,” Clay added.

“You’re the perfect mates for me, and the most wonderful fathers for our baby,” Abbey told them.

“Yeah?” Hunter asked, winking at her.

Abbey smiled and nodded. “Yes,” she answered without hesitation, her voice soft and filled with every bit of love she had for them. “You’re both the perfect friends, lovers, mates, fathers, and protectors.”

She leaned forward and rested her forehead against theirs as the three of them cuddled their son.

“And you’re mine,” she whispered.
