Blood Red (42 page)

Tomorrow at dusk she would awaken and hold both Yannick and Bastien in her arms again.

At night they would explore pleasure once more…

And there are many more combinations that can be tried with three in the bed,
Bastien promised in her head.

Exhausted, but happy, she giggled.

Yannick cuddled her close. “You don’t regret your choice, do you?”

She glanced up and saw a hint of sparkling sea green in his eyes. Her throat tightened at the tenderness, the admiration, the joy she saw.

“How could I? I love you. Both of you. And I’ve learned love is far more powerful when shared between three.”

Epilogue

“I just felt a kick!” Althea cried happily.

At her announcement, Yannick sat up so quickly to place his hand on her rounded belly, water sloshed out of the bath onto his polished floor. She couldn’t help but laugh at his enthusiasm.

Resting against the other end of the enormous porcelain tub, Bastien grinned. “Push gently, brother
.

Yannick did and to her delight and his, the baby kicked out in response. Even though she was immersed in hot water up to her fuller breasts, Althea saw a little bump push out and move.

The bulge actually swung across her stomach before disappearing. She giggled again, knowing she was beaming. It was so amazing. Such a miracle.

“He’s got a strong kick,” Yannick crowed with obvious pride.

“Perhaps
she
has a strong kick,” Bastien suggested, lifting his leg to soap it.

Althea glared indignantly at Yannick—he continually called the baby “he”.

“After all,” Bastien continued with a wink, “
her
mother is strong and courageous.”

And her father was…

Well, in truth, she couldn’t be sure. And though she’d been afraid that the twins would bicker and fight endlessly over the baby’s paternity, they hadn’t fought once. They spent every night coddling her instead. And making love to her.

Bastien stood, water sluicing off his chest, his slim hips, rolling down his lean legs. Steam swirled around him and her heightened senses inhaled his sensual scent. Sandalwood soap, clean skin, and rich blood.

His silver eyes glittered and she knew what he had in mind. She stroked her belly.

Sex isn’t harmful for the baby, little dove
, Bastien promised, his expression appealing and hopeful.

I fear your opinion might be biased,
she teased. But she knew it to be true. Elizabeth, the vampire queen, had told her many facts about being an
enceinte
vampire.

His look of sudden worry lightened at her smile. She’d been astonished when Bastien had promised that at the end of her pregnancy, when she was tired and eager to deliver, sex was one of the time-honored methods to start the labor along. How did he come by such knowledge? He was so genuinely delighted to be a part of this baby’s life. She knew he still grieved a little for his first, lost child.

And Yannick, too, spent every moment talking of being an expectant father.

Yannick bent and nibbled her bare breast.

now they are irresistible.

Althea sighed. The Demon Twins could not leave her plumper, rounder breasts alone. She had to admit her new generous curves fascinated her too.

Yannick stood and swung out of the tub, sending water cascading to the floor. She loved watching the way he attended to drying himself with a thick white towel. He dusted the towel over his body with spare movements. Rubbed his hair. Then tossed his towel aside, took another.
But we must help her dry and dress. Her father will be arriving soon.

Yannick held out his hand. Bastien steadied her hips as Yannick lifted her from the tub.

Thick warmth wrapped around her. Both men helped her dry, rubbing every inch of her through the towels. Bastien toweled off in haste. He flung the towel onto the heap of discarded ones.

And now to bed
. Bastien nipped her throat.

No time
. Yannick sighed.

This would be their last dinner with her father before he left for the Continent. The three of them would follow in a few weeks. The four of them, actually. Yannick, Bastien, their child, and herself. Yannick had purchased an estate—an old castle—near the Carpathians. They could not stay in England, for it would soon become blatantly apparent that the twins never aged.

Father had decided to return to the Carpathians as soon as he selected a young apprentice or two to help him hunt. Now he didn’t destroy vampires. He was studying their culture and existence. Only when a vampire was rogue, evil, and uncontrollable, did he resort to destruction.

She was so grateful for Father’s unconditional love. He’d been shocked by her decision to become a vampire. And by her unorthodox marriage—to two men! She’d feared he might collapse but he was so happy to know she was safe, he’d survived her stunning news. And eventually he’d accepted it.

She remembered his kiss to her cheek. His soft words. “I love you far more than I care for society’s rules, and if you are happy, then I am willing to welcome two demon sons-in-law.”

And she was happy. She doubted any woman could be happier. And she knew their love grew stronger—her telepathic connection with both men became more powerful each day.

Lift your arms, sweeting.
Yannick brought into her thoughts, holding out her gossamer-fine shift.

Sarah rarely had the chance to dress or undress her. The twins were so eager to make love that she was usually assisted in or out of her clothes by one of them. Not that she minded at all.

He slipped it over her head. The wispy fabric settled over her, but the hem sat up across the bulge of her belly. Bastien kissed her there, before tugging down her shift. “For you, little one inside. I cannot wait to meet you.”

“You’ll have to wait a few months,” she reminded him.

“It will seem like eternity.”

Can you imagine both our mouths on you, love?

Althea moaned as Yannick’s hot breath whispered over her neck. Pregnant vampires were very sensitive, she’d discovered. And very responsive.

The dreams. Yannick still remembered the dreams. Dreams that still came to her—though they were no longer planted by Zayan. And they were no longer a glimpse of her destiny. Now they were erotic memories of all the wonderful pleasures she, Yannick, and Bastien shared.

Althea reached for Bastien’s hand on her belly, twining her fingers in his. She clasped Yannick’s hand and moved his palm to the small bulge too.

A threesome, soon to be a family of four. Tears threatened to spill as she smiled at both Yannick and Bastien, the wonderfully demonic twins.

I can’t imagine anything I could ever want more.
