Neil complied by kneeling in front of her and grasping his cock so he could push the tip of it against her wet pussy, sinking it to the hilt in one quick thrust.

Barbara sucked in air at the feeling of having him enter her so quickly. As warmed up as she was to him, his girth still caught her by surprise, and she widened her legs to wrap them around him as he began to thrust rapidly in and out of her.

“Is this okay on your belly?” he asked between breaths.

“Yeah,” she said. “It feels good. Keeping going.”

Neil leaned forward, resting his hands on the bed beside her, and he pumped back and forth, his cock sliding easily in and out of her while she held onto his back, digging her fingers into him. Neil’s tip pushed against the inside of her pussy in just the right way, stroking her with each thrust and making her skin burn with the anticipation of another climax.

“I’m really close,” he grunted, his thrusts taking on a heightened sense of urgency.

“Cum in me, baby,” she said, digging her fingers harder into his muscular back. “Let me feel you cum inside me.”

Neil groaned and shouted his climax into the room, the sound of his body slapping against hers serving as the percussive backbeat to his involuntary cries of ecstasy.

Arching her back and tilting herself at just the right angle, Barbara joined him a second later, her pussy clenching and her stomach muscles tightening as a third wave of pure pleasure slammed into her and enveloped her body. The two of them pulled each other close, grinding their hips and shaking from the sheer exertion of it all as their bodies moved with animal instinct, clawing every last bit of pleasure out of each other that they possibly could.

When it was over, Neil settled himself down gently on top of her, propping himself up on his elbows to keep from putting too much weight on her belly. He kissed her softly and nuzzled his face into her neck, breathing heavily in an effort to recover from his exertion.

After a long moment of holding each other like that, Neil pulled out of her and rolled away, his seed spilling out of her and onto her leg as he moved. Normally Barbara would have tried to catch it before it went all over the sheets, but she was too tired and too happy to care about that, and so she let it drip out of her, forming a wet spot on the bed that they could deal with later.

“Are we going to okay?” asked Neil, pulling her into an embrace.

“I think we are,” she replied, nestling her head on his shoulder and curling into his warmth. “I think we’ll be just fine.”

Neil kissed the top of her head and pulled the blanket up over them, listening to her breathing for a long time before falling asleep with a smile on his face.

Chapter Eight

Barbara
sat near the window in Neil’s condo and admired the way the sun sparkled off the engagement ring he’d given her a few months earlier. She still hadn’t gotten used to seeing the thing there on her finger, and she had to fight the urge to giggle every time she remembered that this was where she lived now.

“What are you smiling about?” asked Neil when he came into the room.

“Oh nothing,” she said, rubbing her rather large belly. “Just how happy I am.”

“Are you going in to work today?” asked Neil.

“I was thinking about it, but I’m not so sure now,” she replied. “I feel about ready to pop, and I really don’t want to be at the office when it’s time to have this baby.”

“Maybe it’s best if you stay home today then,” said Neil. “I know we’re not focusing on it, but you are two days past due. Do you want me to call Lydia to see if she can come over to spend the day with you while I’m at work?”

“No,” said Barbara. “I’ll call her in a bit.”

Neil came over and placed his hands on her shoulders, leaning down to kiss her on the top of her head. He looked down at his lovely fiancée and smiled at how his life had turned around so shortly. Inside of three months he’d proposed to Barbara and suggested that she move in with him, surprising her with the arrangement that he’d already started paying into a fund that would allow Barbara’s mother to live with the support of money that the two of them would contribute to.

“Ugh,” said Barbara, clenching her jaw and arching her back to try to alleviate the pain lancing through it. “I actually don’t feel so great at all. I’m really tired, and I think I’m feeling actual contractions.”

“You’re sure it’s not just Braxton-Hicks?” asked Neil.

“This is what I get for being with a doctor,” said Barbara. “I know what pre-labor contractions are, Neil, and I don’t think that’s what this is.”

“Does that mean it’s time?” asked Neil, his voice taking on an edge of nervousness. “Do you want me to get your bag and take you to the hospital?”

“If it’s not too much trouble to drop me off on your way to work,” teased Barbara.

Neil laughed. “Let’s go, you.”

He helped her to her feet and supported her while she clutched her belly and groaned in discomfort.

“Yeah, I think this is really happening,” she said. “Are you ready for this?”

“I am weirdly freaking out right now,” he said. “I’ve delivered a few babies at the hospital without breaking a sweat, but now I kind of feel like I want to throw up.”

“Well save it for later,” she said, “because it’s baby time.”

Neil snatched up the duffel bag with her hospital clothes and accessories, and he helped Barbara slip into a comfortable pair of flats before opening the door and taking her to the elevator. Once in the parking garage, he left her by the door while he went to get his car, pulling it around so she could get inside without having to walk across the lot.

“I texted my mom and told her to meet us there,” said Barbara as they pulled out on to the street.

“Good thinking,” said Neil. “I’m going to drive nice and safely, but you let me know if it gets urgent or anything. I’ll run every red light between here and the hospital if I have to.”

“Relax,” said Barbara as she looked at the man who clearly loved her more than anything else in this world. “Everything’s going to be just fine. We’re all going to be just fine.”

And for the first time since learning she’d become pregnant, she knew with absolute certainty that her words rang true.
