Owing “Big Jacques” (the local gangster) more money than he can pay off Michael with the help of Lenny realises he needs to disappear. Lenny ends up dead, while Michael escapes with his life, something he refuses to forgive himself for.

When Jeff hears a ruckus in Madeline’s apartment he assumes it’s the usual response to the noise he makes when frustrated with his inability to be inspired in his work. This time it ends up being a lot worse than he thought. Two men have intruded into Madeline’s apartment and killed her. What’s worse is the fact that the police having been called by persons unknown find Jeff and Silvi his friend from downstairs and charge them for the murders.

Now Jeff must pronounce his innocence and find a way to bring the real killers to justice. He must also find a way to find out why they killed his true love Madeline. First, he must find a way to free
