Gretchen states, “I am Gretchen Cotner, and sorry about before. I just wanted some idea who you were before the others got here.”

Ginger didn’t trust her and kept her walls up, but shook her hand to be friendly.

She thought, “Who does that? A psycho!”

Chapter Twenty Nine:

The class was on reorganizing matter and having complete control over it. There was Gretchen, Stacey, and Howard Long. He is 26 and handsome, but not Ginger’s type. The mall is solid like a wrestler and as kind as a poet. In fact he writes poetry.

Class was exciting, but not so much when their teacher turned out to be Professor Cole Esterbrook. The same Cole that bartends at night and hasn’t called Guadalupe back. She has become close to him and they go hiking twice a week now.

Ginger had to stop herself from lashing out at the guy. He hurt her bestfriend and she won’t stand for that. A few times during class Stacey had to squeeze her arm to stop Ginger from lunging at him. His jokes weren’t that funny and Ginger rolled her eyes a lot during that hour.

After an hour listening to the warlock Cole, Stacey and Ginger waited for the next professor to teach. Dr. Musashi Oliver Kane is a powerful witch and a doctor, not to be placed together.

The man maybe 500 years old, but only look like a guy in his late thirties with jeans and a rolled up sleeve button down. He was preppy,
but still carried with him a air of authority.

Musashi was so gently that his smiled made you believe anything he told you. His specialty was history and cultures of witchcraft. He also practiced alchemy so would help the witches in class perfect a few skills. The psychics will learn defense against witches, their greatest threat.

The second class was so much better then the first, and Ginger was happy to share her car with Stacey. They carpooled to school to save on gas and help the environment.

Chapter Thirty:

Days seem to fly by, except on October fourth when classes were canceled at Dark Force University. Stacey looked from Gretchen to her, no clue what was going on.

Gretchen says, “Somebody has kidnapped Abe. So classes are canceled into further notice.”

Stacey asks, “How do you know?”

Gretchen smirks and responds, “I have my connections. See you guys later.”

Gretchen walks through the vortex back to the pool are and outside. The pool area can only way through to the school but only special individuals can walk between the magic barrier.

Ginger still was astonished by the massive school like a high school compacted inside a tiny vortex. Once again Ginger couldn’t believe magic could do so much.

Stacey suggested they check in on Penny, since they had the time why not. Stacey gave Ginger the keys to the Prius, so she could read in the car. An hour and seven minutes later, Ginger was parking the car outside the grand mansion. This view like the school was spectacularly beautiful.

Both women got up and left the car to head up the steps. Penny swung the door open and was grinning like a kid on Christmas morning.

Penny chimes out, “In. Come in.”

Stacey smiles and Ginger follows her inside the house. Penny swings the door closes and they follow her down the hall to a private office. There was paintings and drawings on all the canvas displayed. Most had amazing sights and were drying.

Penny had gone back to work and was working on opening a art gallery to sell her work. With all of Jurnee’s fortune, she couldn’t go another moment without following her passion for art.

Stacey asks, “Where’s Jurnee?”

Penny responds, “Out shopping.”

Ginger asks, “Anything in particular? Or does a rich couple already have everything?”

Penny laughs and states, “Not I my dear. She wants green dice for alter on. We’re playing Monopoly. Why green I can not say. She was always so peculiar about these things.”

Ginger nods and goes around the room examining all the pictures. The one that caught her eye was a turtle and a unicorn surrounded by dark rain clouds and fire brimstone raining down on the field of green grass. The imagery was dark and powerful.

Penny says, “I call this Gravely Misplaced Passion. It is something I dreamt up and couldn’t stop thinking about into I painted it. It haunts me and at the same time gives me chills of romance. I can not say why.”

Stacey states, “We were just dropping by to say high so we ought to head out.”

Penny smiles and replies, “Glad to see you both. Talk to you guys later.”

She let them out with a quick hug and rushed back in to draw as I inspiration just hit.

Chapter Thirty One:

Back at the house, Stacey sat with Ginger trying to figure out why anyone would want to kidnap Abe.

Ginger asks, “Any doubt it wasn’t Feltus?”

Stacey replies, “No, I believe it was him, too.”

Ginger states, “what do we do?”

Stacey sighs and responds, “Get everyone together again.”

Ginger demands, “And then what?”

Stacey looks concerned but says, “Stay level headed and work together.”

Ginger nods. But can tell Stacey is worried about her and with good reason. She has no way to live her life if he keeps coming back to stop her from moving forward.

Waiting a few seconds, she allowed her heart race to drop and mediate on what to do next.

Stacey says, ‘I am going to go see Malcolm.”

Ginger asks, “Why? We don’t need his help.”

Stacey sucks her teeth and responds, “You don’t know that, and besides we have no other options at the moment. I don’t want Feltus getting more powerful so please just cool out into I get back.”

Ginger mumbles, “Whatever.”

She watched Stacey leave feeling uncertainty. This was the first time they truly fought, but that wasn’t her main focus right now. Now at this moment, Ginger needed to do Pilates to calm down and focus.

Chapter Thirty Two:

After she finished her Pilates, she went downstairs and was running on the treadmill for thirty four minutes.

She didn’t hear a door bell ring, because Three Days Grace was pounding in her earbuds. Ginger did sense his presence, or more accurately his mental barrier. A indigo was here and it was a man.

Ginger got off the treadmill, went upstairs to answer the front door. Aaron and Yvette were at work, and she was home alone.

She swings the door inward and glares at Mark, as if he is her enemy. Ginger quickly smiled to hide the uncertainty that Feltus hadn’t came to finish what he started by assassinating her entire family.

Ginger says, “Oh sorry. Hi, come on in. I wasn’t expecting company.”

He chuckles as she leads him into the kitchen.

Ginger asks, “Can I get you anything to drink?”

Mark replies, “Sure water if you got it.”

Ginger grins and says, “That we do.”

She opens the fridge and pulls out two water bottles. She hands one to him, before twisting the top off the other and chugging a few gulps.

Ginger stops drinking and asks, “How’d you get my address?”

Mark smirks and responds, “Calm down senorita. I ain’t staling you, or anything bizarre like that. I read Penny’s memories and got it from there. We need to talk.”

Ginger pauses and states, “About?”

Mark sighs and answers, “Abe is missing. That means all hands on deck. Don’t you know? I thought you were living with the great Darkholme family.”

Ginger snarls, “A I am. And B I don’t follow rules I were never given. Asshat.”

Mark smirks and winks. He states, “Is that so my little energizer bunny.”

She rolls her eyes and snaps, “What do you want? The faster you spill it. The quicker you can vanish. And I do mean for good.”

Mark smiles and says, “I think I got a way to get Abe back, but I need your help.”

Ginger blinks and says, “My help? Can’t action hero Mark do it all alone?”

Mark chuckles and states, “Hardy hard har. You have connections, so do I but we need to move quick.”

Ginger says, “Fine. Let me just ran upstairs and shower real quick.”

Mark asks, “Why? You look fine.”

Ginger glares and responds, “Are you insane?“

Mark grins and responds, “Not at the moment. This conversation is pointless. You look good as the same as before.”

She gasps. Ginger has no words or snappy comeback. His words knocked her completely by surprise, and before Ginger could say another word.

Rough lips pressed tenderly against hers.” Her senses of gravity faded away, and caused a moment to resist. Instead she melted into his arms, felt his hands on her body. Ignited passion, lust, and a demand for more.

One hand tugged her hair band free, pushed her deeper into the kiss. The other pressed up so forcefully against her back. She felt every inch of ripped muscle against her body and she thrusts her tongue into his mouth. He yelped and she knew she needed more.

More what? She couldn’t say or think. One of her hands had grabbed his bicep and tugged on as if he was her life savor. The other squeezed his butt and she was repaid with same gesture. On reflex she grinded into his body and whimpered with want.

She thought, “What am I doing?”

Oh no. she pulled back, breaking the kiss ad her flushed cheeks matched his panting. He looked like seconds away from breaking the barrier of control he tried to maintain.

Ginger wondered, “What just happened? And what about Leo?”
