Escaped the Night (62 page)

Lakylee
moved over towards Daray, wrapped her arms around him and
kissed his neck. “
Even this is because of you
.
You’re truly a gift and
you have mad
e life better for everyone, all the way around.

“Thank you
,
guys.” I smiled.

Daray looked different now. The darkness that had haunted him was gone and instead he appeared happy. I was pleased
,
knowing
he’d found
his happiness.
I
knew
love had led him and
Lakylee
to ea
ch other and this time nothing w
ould interfere with their happiness.

Sauda
was still tagging around, hanging off Daray’s every word
and
Lakylee
seemed to be
somewhat
more tolerant towards
her. Perhaps there was a
friends
hip in the making?
Either way, i
t was nice
to
see that Lakylee
was no longer
alone.
She
was a
part of something, where she belonged and
was loved.

We were similar in so very many ways
;
it was
quite
uncanny
at times. We were one of a kind;
b
oth had walked alone for some time an
d both managed to overcome the
odds and co
me together with those who surrounded us
.
We’d found our place
,
love
and also
friendship within each other.

Some immortals are born
while
other
s
are made.
Some
have the ability to move and bend the constraints
of time,
giving
the gift of
everlasting life
. Immortals will always be part of everyday life. Some
may
hide from yo
u, while others
will
make it known during your firs
t encounter. We are everywhere: we
could b
e your neighbor down the street
,
the person on the bus
in the seat
next to you
or
maybe even
the shadow stalking you in the distance
.
The easiest way to spot us is
to
just look up into the night skies, our most honored will be happy to greet you.
Always remember that
thanks to the sacrifices and changes we’ve made together,
today we are able to walk as

one.
