Trina lifted her chin in acknowledgement and got into her car. Looking out the windshield, Dean was slowly trying to lift himself up and fell back to the ground. He had gotten off light for the six years of abuse he had put her through. With a satisfied smile that she could take care of herself

Trina backed out of the parking lot and headed back out of town. She would make her shift the next night and go back home to her son. Dean was no longer in charge of her life.
