Family Reunion (94 page)

Manny watched Lena's face light up in a big wide smile, teeth showing as she nodded to something Mildred said and then was hugged by her. Ferrus was there to grab her next.

"Look at her Charles, she's my world…my entire world ...I need her in it to survive."

"Well, we're here for you. But…you know it ain't gonna be easy, somewhere, somehow – someone's gonna get wind of it, then what?"

"We have a plan…but the main one is, to just take it one day at a time. That's all we can do, with all of our family and friends surrounding us, I think we'll be fine." Suddenly, he saw Lena break away from the crowd and run across the yard to the mansion, entering from the kitchen door. "What the-…" Manny started unsure. He turned to the slowly dispersing crowd of well wishers and asked, "What happened?"

"She tell us wait a minute…she be right back." They answered.

Shaking his head Manny stepped away from Charles and strode for the mansion, up the steps and into the kitchen door, searching through the halls looking for her, calling out her name, "Lena! Where are you…what happened darlin'?"

"I'm here…"

He went to where
here
was and found her standing before his mother's portrait. Stunned he looked up from his wife, to Royals painting.

"I – I wanted her to know… that we did it. That I am back…and…that we – you and I are now married and well … we would now pick up where she left off."

Manny slowly approached her, glancing back and forth from the portrait of his mother, to his wife, reaching her he wrapped his arms around her. "You said all that hmmm?"

"Yep…I just wanted her to know."

"She…say anything back?" He kidded grinning, Lena turned away
from him and stared up at Royal and said in all seriousness, "She smiled at me, and whispered …welcome home."

The End

Post Notes

Dear Reader, it has been a long, rewarding, creative journey, but one that has come to an end with the completion of Family Reunion from our Webster Fields trilogy. In many ways this final novel has been the hardest of the three to write because of the many emotions involved in bringing the story to its conclusion. We hope that the readers of the first two books of the trilogy found this third and final volume equally or even more moving and entertaining. We wish to thank the readers, for their patience and loyalty.

For the time being, Laz and I will be taking a short break to recover from this exhausting but exciting and uplifting endeavor. We will however continue writing other novels and free read short stories.

As well as continuing our online favorite, "The Beauty of Man & Woman!" By the way, are you aware in your purchasing and reading our Webster Fields Trilogy that that qualifies you for a lifetime subscription to our online drama series? All you need do is send me proof of purchase on your three novels and your preffered username and password. I will then activate your login. You can then, head off here – www.bomaw.com – where you will find, episode after episode of a drama series many now, swear to being addicted to!

One last thing, don't neglect visiting our site, or…if you haven't done so, joining our readers circle, JK Readers Circle that is. We always enjoy feedback from our readers to let us know how we're doing… as well any reviews our stories might compel you to write!
