“I have no doubt in my mind that it was her.
I was getting hated on left and right from girls that first night
that I was there, even though I smiled all the time and wanted to
appear to be friendly because I am, but I guess they just didn’t
wanna give me a chance. But Felicity seemed to have been the
absolute worse. It was just something about her that rubbed me the
wrong way, and it all started with me giving her a friendly smile
and she didn’t even smile back at me. I don’t even know why I went
back there again,” Stacia said.

Seals and Sherwood looked at each other.

“And on what night did you go back there?”
Sherwood asked.

“Saturday,” Stacia replied. “And I only did
because Jay wanted me to.”

“What were you wearing on Saturday?”
Sherwood asked.

Stacia looked confused. “A marigold color
cashmere sleeveless sweater that draped low in the front, light
blue skinny jeans, and hot pink stilettos with gold studs on
them.”

“Okay. Well, Stacia, as you know, Felicity
Gains was found badly beaten in her bedroom by her parents on
Sunday morning, so we’re talking to everyone that she’s had some
association with. It’s obvious that the two of you weren’t friends,
and if she pulls through this, only she’s able to tell us who did
this to her,” Seals said.

“And what does this have to do with me?”
Stacia asked.

“Well, she damaged some property of yours.
And anyone with any sense would wanna get revenge on someone who
does something like that,” Sherwood said. “And not only that, you
reported it to the club, and we confirmed your report that not only
was your bag messed up, you also had a very expensive lipstick
stolen.”

Stacia nodded. “Well, my
bag is still being refurbished by the brand that my parents bought
it from, and I was able to get another lipstick, but that doesn’t
excuse what she did!” she said, trying not to get angry. “Those
were gifts from my parents for my sweet sixteen! They thought
that
I
was causing
fuckery that night to some girl or girls and they did that to my
bag and stole my lipstick to get back at me! They initially
blamed
me
!” she
said, as tears began to swell up in her eyes.

Seals and Sherwood looked at each other.
They looked at Stacia.

Stacia wiped her eyes. “Look, I know I have
no proof that Felicity did this, but even if she did, I wouldn’t go
as far as to hurt her this bad over it. It’s just material things
and these things can be replaced. I’m not gonna lose my freedom
over a fuck girl, no matter how bad she deserves a good ass
beating.”

“Well, someone or some people thought that
she deserved a very good ass beating, Stacia. I’m glad that you
feel that way because you’re right, no one is worth you losing your
freedom over,” Seals said.

“Absolutely not,” Stacia said.

Several minutes later, Sherwood and Seals
were done interviewing Stacia, and made the two-hundred mile trip
back to the city.

Stacia was back in the privacy of her dorm
room when she decided to call Jay.

“Hey, baby. So, did they make it up there to
talk to you?” he asked, as he stood outside of the cafeteria at his
school in an area where no one was around.

She sighed. “Yeah, they left about ten
minutes ago. I can’t believe that they drove all the way up here to
talk to me about her!”

“Well, they’re cops so that’s what they do.
So, did they ask you about me?”

She sighed again. “Yeah, they did.”

“And I hope you didn’t give them any info,”
he warned.

“Info about what, Jay? Just remember, that
fuck girl ruined my bag and stole my lipstick because she has some
psychotic obsession with you and thought that I’d stolen you from
her! She didn’t do anything to you!”

“Um, how soon you forget, Stacia!” he said,
trying not to get angry as he tried to keep his voice low.

“What are you talking about?!” she
asked.

“That bitch called me gay!
I’m
not
gay!
That’s total defamation of my character! And she also called you a
guy and a tranny! Did you tell those cops that?”

“No, I didn’t,” she replied.

“And why not?”

“I wasn’t thinking about it, and they didn’t
bring it up. Maybe they don’t know about it. Look, I didn’t mention
anything about you other than the fact that I just met you that
night that she was there, and that she came up to you while we were
dancing and it seems like she was trying to take your attention
away from me. I told them that something didn’t seem right about
her, and I believe that she’s the only one at the club that night
that could’ve ruined my bag and stole my lipstick. I just said that
out of all of those hatin’-ass bitches there that night, she was
definitely the worst and she showed it.”

“Yeah, you’re right. But
that bitch totally defamed my character! Her calling me gay
is
everywhere
and
everyone in my school is
still
talking about it! I even have gay guys asking me
out, saying that it’s okay to admit that I’m gay because they’re
here for me!”

Stacia laughed.

“I don’t see anything funny about this! And
you should be mad, too!” he angrily replied.

“I am mad,
Jay! And you don’t think I had people asking me
about her talking shit about me being a guy and a tranny? Even
though I’m not on social media,
a
lot
of people from my school are on it and
were showing me shit that she was saying and was asking me about
what happened to her and did I know if you or anyone else had
anything to do with it!”

“And what did you say to them?”

“I just said that anyone
could’ve hurt that bitch because she was the ultimate fuck girl.
They all know what she did to my bag and stole my lipstick, even
though I don’t have proof that it’s her;
I
know
it was her and I told them that, and
they believe that it was her, too. I said that if she did that to
my personal property just for dancing and socializing with someone
that she obviously really liked, then I can imagine what she’s done
to other people, therefore leading to what happened to
her.”

He shook his head. “Oh, so
they think that
I
could’ve had something to do with what happened to
her?”

“No one has said that to me, Jay,” she
replied.

“But those motherfuckers are probably
thinking it!” he angrily said.

“They don’t know everything, Jay, okay? It’s
just shit that they’re seeing around social media. A lot of people
at my school follow you on all of your social media pages and they
told me they’ve seen all of the pictures that you’ve posted of you
and her having a lot of fun at the club.”

“Yeah, and I was gonna take those pictures
down, but I had second thoughts about it and said that I would keep
them up because I don’t wanna look like I had something to do with
what happened to her.”

“Okay, that’s good, Jay. Because if you do
start taking stuff down then those cops will suspect something. I
have a feeling they’ve been combing the social media pages of
everyone who’s had some involvement with Felicity, and anyone who
takes stuff down, asks a lot of questions about her, talks too much
about her and about what happened to her, is probably very
suspect.”

“I know that,” he replied. “So, are you
coming back down here this week?”

“No, I can’t,” she informed him.

“Well, why not?” he asked, as he tried not
to sound disappointed.

“Because my parents are coming up here to
see me this week. They’ll be here all weekend,” she replied.

“Well, okay. Do you think those cops are
gonna question me anytime soon?”

“If they questioned me then you should know
that they’re gonna question you, so I’ll say that it’s only a
matter of time before they do. Just be on guard for suspicious
followers on social media and private messages. Even though I’m not
on there, I know about that stuff.”

“Yeah, I know you do. And don’t worry
because I’m always on guard, especially now. If they wanna talk to
me then I’ll talk to them just like how you did because after all,
I’m not gonna make them believe that I have something to hide by
not talking to them.”

Meanwhile, on the way back to the station,
Sherwood and Seals talked about their interrogation with
Stacia.

“So, I think Stacia could still be hiding
something,” Seals said.

“And what do you think that is?” Sherwood
asked.

“I’m not sure. I just think that her and Jay
have something more going on than just being club buddies.”

“You mean bosom buddies!” Sherwood
laughed.

Seals laughed as she hit him. “Oh, most
definitely! But she’s definitely a stuck-up brat, you can tell by
her demeanor. I’m not saying she got what she deserved, but she
shouldn’t have been surprised that it actually happened, and maybe
she’s the type that has gotten away with a lot of shit because why
would her parents inadvertently accuse her of being a fuck girl?
But I don’t know, we’re trying to figure out who did this to
Felicity, not her.”

“Do you really think that Stacia has it in
her to do something this bad to someone, even though she told us
that she didn’t do it?”

Seals stared out the window. She looked at
Sherwood. “Yeah, I think she does have it in her. Anyone is capable
of anything.”

“You got that right,” Sherwood replied.

“Do you think she’s pretty?” Seals asked
with a slight grin.

Sherwood returned the grin. “There’s a
reason why you’re asking me this.”

Seals laughed. “Well, you and I both know
what that reason is.”

“Yeah, we do. But first, to answer your
question, yeah, I think she’s very pretty; my sons would definitely
like her and they always put looks first when it comes to girls, so
no, I don’t think she looks like a guy or is really a guy or a
tranny.”

“And that’s what I’m
surprised at that she didn’t bring up while we were there!
She knows
she saw that
post about Felicity saying that she was really a guy! Now something
like that would make any girl mad enough to do the unthinkable!
That’s more offensive than her destroying her bag and stealing her
lipstick! So she’s
definitely
hiding something.”

“I gotta agree with that! No girl would want
anyone to say they’re a guy when they’re not, so that’s definitely
more hurtful than anything to them. And with Felicity also saying
that Jay was gay in the same post, well, we know he wasn’t anything
nice about that, because a truly straight guy would be mad as hell
at someone for saying that about him, unless it was really
true.”

“And only Jay knows that, and we’ll find
that out when we talk to him,” Seals said. “Oh, and to Stacia
again, too.”

Sherwood nodded. “Most definitely.”

Chapter 24

L
ater on that evening in the hospital where Felicity was at,
she laid in the bed still clinging to life. Her parents had gone
home for the evening to care for her younger siblings, and Erin had
just left as well since visiting hours were over. Felicity’s
condition still wasn’t improving, and Erin did not post pictures of
how she looked in the hospital per Felicity’s parents’ request, but
was allowed to give people updates on her condition through social
media.

The nurse assigned to
Felicity during the evening and overnight hours, walked down the
empty hall towards her room. She walked into her room and screamed
in shock as
a person dressed in
head-to-toe black wearing a black ski mask, sunglasses, and gloves
was trying to strangle Felicity!

The assailant ran past the
nurse and knocked her to the floor and then ran out of the room!
The nurse still screamed as people came out from everywhere as the
security guard came running down the hall with his gun drawn and
pointed right at the assailant!
He fired a
shot and missed his target by inches
as
everyone screamed and jumped to the floor! The assailant turned a
corner and disappeared!

Doctors and nurses, as well as extra
security, came running in the room as Felicity continued to gasp
and choke as if she was on her last breath. The doctors and nurses
were finally able to get her stabilized.

Twenty minutes later, the restless Sherwood
and Seals were back at the hospital in a private room talking to
Erin about more suspects, as Felicity’s family were right back in
the room with her as they talked to the doctors, nurses, and cops,
while two cops stood outside of it.

“So, it looks like someone tried to finish
the job on your best friend. Is there anyone that you wanna tell us
about that you haven’t told us about?” Sherwood said.

Erin sighed as tears streamed down her eyes.
She grabbed another tissue and wiped her eyes. “There’s just so
many people, I swear. If Felicity wouldn’t have cause so much
fuckery she wouldn’t be in this predicament right now. I can
honestly say that I can’t narrow it down.”

“Well, we saw on social media while on the
way here that what happened to her here has spread like wildfire.
Everyone’s talking about it,” Seals said.

“Yeah, I know. It’s how I found out. Someone
had posted it on one of my social media pages about the nurse who
the person knocked down. She had written on her social media pages
that she was just involved in an incident here and said she’d
walked in on a patient being attacked by someone in her bed, but
she didn’t say it was Felicity, but it’s obvious that someone here
leaked it about it being her. Then, I got a call from Catherine
telling me to meet her and her husband at the hospital. I didn’t
even wanna tell her that I already knew what’d happened,” Erin
said.
