Chapter Nineteen

Colt watched, from the safety of
trees, the bitch’s first change.

‘Enjoy it now, sweetness,’ he
said bitterly. ‘Your time will come and your mate will pay for what he did to
me. I’ll rip his heart out and feed it to you whilst you choke.’ He could feel
the hatred deepen inside him, but he didn’t flinch as he felt his father’s hand
on his shoulder.

‘We will have our revenge, son.
They will pay for marking your face and skin. Their little happy island life
will wither and die. I’ll see to it.’

They turned to leave on the same
craft they had brought over with them to watch the happy moment. Both father
and son froze as they heard the first howl welcoming the bitch into their pack.

Marcus turned to Colt. ‘I will
see to it personally that you get your mate, Colt. I will make that bitch suffer
for her stupidity.’

Then, stepping onto their craft,
they sailed silently away.
