“Megan, are you still there?” Sebastian’s authoritative voice boomed through the phone loud enough to cause even Dominic’s brow to arch.

“Yes, I’m sorry. I’m just a little distracted.” She pressed her lips together in a tight line as Dominic cupped her ass. He pressed her down and bucked his hips, rubbing her sensitive pussy over his engorged crotch.

“I see,” he said suspiciously. “Where exactly are you?”

As if being caught making out on the living room sofa by her father, she froze, and Dominic quickly snatched the phone from her hand. “Sebastian, we’re heading your way, but I’ve got a stop to make first, and then we’ll pop on over so Megan can check on Brie. We’ll also give you the latest on Lilly.” Glancing at Megan, he said, “She paid me a visit last night.”

“She what?” Megan snapped, and her eyes filled with worry. Why hadn’t he told her? Heat flooded her face, and she felt the overwhelming need to kick his ass.

Dominic ignored her. “Anyway, give us a few hours and we’ll be there.”

“Great. I’ll set the table for two more,” Sebastian said, sounding pleased that he and Megan were on their way.

“Make it three,” Dominic corrected. “If I know Reyes, he’s following close behind.” He closed the phone and threw it to the passenger floorboard, not waiting for Sebastian’s reply.

Scowling at him, she vehemently asked, “Were you ever going to tell me about your encounter with the nefarious Lilly?”

He shrugged. “What difference does it make?”

Scowling deeper, she smacked him on his shoulder. “It makes every difference in the world to me.”

He sighed hard, rolling his eyes at her. “Okay, so after you left, she sort of attacked me.”

Instantly, her hands went to his cheeks, tenderly framing his face, holding him as if to inspect him for damage. “What happened, Dominic?”

His chin flicked up, one hand at the nape of her neck, the other cradling the back of her head. He pulled her close and kissed her hard. “I want you there when I talk with Sebastian, then you’ll hear everything, but right now, I want you and only you. I don’t want to think about the hell we’ll be facing with Lilly or any other dangers we might end up dealing with tomorrow.” He kissed her again. This time the kiss included the soft burning caresses of their dueling lips and tongues. He kissed her that way until she moaned. He cupped her face in his unyielding hands, zeroing in on her heated gaze. “Right now the only thing that matters is that I’m in love with you and I have been since the day I met you. I was too damn stupid to see it then, but I’m not going to let another moment elapse between us without you knowing how I feel. You’re all I want, Red. You’re all I’ll ever need. I’m so sorry I allowed my fear of commitment to stop me from having you when I should’ve. Claiming you as my mate should’ve been my priority. I love you, and even if you don’t return my feelings, it will never change my desire for you.”

On a gasp, her hand covered her mouth. “Dominic—”

“I know. It’s sudden, and I should explain why I sent Jonah after you because once you learn the reason you may never want to speak to me again. Before I make love to you, I need to come clean.”

Her eyes widened. Even though she thought she already understood him better than anyone else ever could, she knew she needed to hear his explanation. She nodded. “Go on.”

Without hesitation, he began, “It’s obvious to me now that I deliberately sabotaged our chance to be together. I knew once Jonah used his sexual wiles on you, there was no way you could resist, but I had hoped you’d…” He stopped himself as if he didn’t want to upset her with whatever he was about to say. “All I had to do was pretend you didn’t matter to me, and believe it or not, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do.”

She tensed in his arms, but he held her more firmly when she shuddered in response to his confession.

“When Jonah was able to capture your heart so easily I thought that what I felt for you wasn’t real, that I’d been tricked by the mating instinct.” He chuckled. “I was pretty pissed at you for not fighting for me. I had hoped you’d see that I was your mate and decline Jonah’s offer. I realized sending Jonah to you was the biggest mistake of my life, but I feared rejection, Megan. I feared that I’d give you my heart and you would never give me yours in return. I was training to be an alpha leader. How would it look if emotions ruled over me?”

She snorted in annoyance. “You let ego dictate your decision to be with me or not?”

He gave a shameful nod. “I did, and I’ve suffered so much because of my decision. You’ll never know how sorry I am for what I did. I wanted to hate you for not fighting for me. I wanted to hate Jonah for making you fall in love with him, for making it so easy for you to forget me.”

For a long moment, she just stared at him, her brows pinched tight until she could no longer hold back her need to laugh at their ridiculous and similar situations.

“Why are you laughing?” Dominic asked as if she had just insulted the size of his cock, which was truly nothing to laugh at.

She covered her mouth again, but this time it was as if the action was the only thing that would help stop her from giggling. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t help it. All these years I thought it was me. I thought the fear I felt was one-sided. I thought that you rejected me.”

“What? You did?”

She wet her dry lips. “When you didn’t want me and instead sent Jonah after me, I thought the instinct to be with you wasn’t real. I’ve never trusted my heart since because I figured I was a lycan anomaly and the instinct didn’t work for me…that it was a lie. That was the day I decided that I’d rather have love than some stupid, false mating bond.”

His wide-eyed and open-mouthed expression of surprise could’ve been a spitting image to how she was feeling inside in this surreal, dreamlike moment. “You spent all those years with Jonah,” he finally said.

Nodding, she said plainly, “I did, but it was just physical and a friendship I desperately needed. I thought that I could force love, that in time we might become so enamored with each other we’d fall miraculously in love, but it never happened.”

Dominic’s eyes rounded, the whites of his eyes revealing his shock. “So you never loved Jonah?” The pleading desperation in his voice had her heart fluttering in her chest.

She shook her head. “No. I never loved Jonah. I thought I did, but it’s nothing compared to the way I feel when I’m with you.” She placed her hand on his square jaw, running the pad of her thumb over his full bottom lip. “Even without the mating instinct, Dominic, I’m head over heels for you, babe. I’ve dreamed about you almost each and every night since I met you. How could I ever forget the man I’ve always loved?”

The bestial growl that ripped from his chest made her wet and wild. Her legs and heart quivered simultaneously. The power behind his kiss robbed her of breath. She circled her arms around his neck as he deepened the kiss. His tongue mingled with hers, tasting the red-hot fire that burned inside him. Desire never felt so consuming, so wonderful.

“Wait,” he groaned, his eyes searching deep into hers.

Gasping for air, she froze in his arms, her lips raw from his hungry kisses.

“What about Reyes?”

Her brow furrowed. “Are you sure you want to talk about this now?”

“Yes,” he told her. “I need to know where I stand.”

“Well, I’m kind of confused about that. You see, somehow you both are my mates. I’ve known it since the moment you both walked into my life. Even though I didn’t want to admit it. I could feel it deep down into my soul, and the bond was confirmed the moment you both kissed me. You two will forever be a part of me.” Her voice began to shake. “The thought of being without either of you is like being torn into pieces.” Tears stung the backs of her eyes as emotions overwhelmed. She was tired of fighting the need to be with them. She now knew what she wanted and would do just about anything to have it.

“I won’t be happy sharing you, Megan.” The fierce tone of his voice was a declaration of war he intended to wage on anyone who dared try to possess her as he did.

Racing thoughts pummeled inside her mind. How could she ask him to be faithful to her when she was clearly going to be committed to two men? The selfish need churned in her belly. “I wouldn’t be happy sharing you either, Dominic.”

“I don’t have a choice, do I?” he asked her. She knew he already held the answer before she even acknowledged his question.

She shook her head. “I don’t see how I have a choice either.”

His jaw flexed. His eyes drifted away from her, the sudden tension between them alarming. She scooted to the side and attempted to remove herself from his lap. Dominic wrapped his fingers around her wrist, yanking her carefully back on top of him.

He twisted his fingers in her hair, holding her face close to his. “Honey, we’re not even close to done here.”

He claimed her mouth, tasting her as she tasted him. Her salt-flavored tears lingered in their kiss. She prayed that everything would work out and hoped the three of them had Lady Luck on their side. Megan’s heart couldn’t take another kind of rejection, and she didn’t want to fight with Dominic anymore, unless it was playful fun before he fucked her so good she came and came and came. He excited her that way, making her mind and body wickedly satisfied with his monstrous size and alluring presence. His physical possession was almost as breathtaking as his ownership of her heart.

If only Reyes could accept the terms of her needs as Dominic seemed to be doing, and they could all three be together. She could only imagine the bliss they’d discover. The intriguing threesome concept seemed to be working for Sebastian, Brie, and Jonah. Was she asking too much for them to find happiness together as well? What if Reyes’s father intervened? Could he truly prevent them from being a mated trio?

Perhaps now was not the time to worry about Reyes when Dominic’s mouth felt so amazing against her own. He eagerly explored her body and caressed her with carnal desire, untamed lust, and love. She could finally feel it now. Maybe hearing Dominic say the words she had longed to hear for ages was what she needed all along to lift the fog of doubt from her mind, doubt that had clearly blocked her mind and heart from functioning fully.

Holding her face in his hands, he whispered, “I have something I need to show you, Red.”

“I’ll bet you do,” she teased, her fingers rubbing over his covered cock.

Grinning wide, he said, “I’m serious, Red.”

She arched a wicked brow, knowing that his mind was always thinking of sex. What alpha male didn’t?

He chuckled and then kissed her hard. “Okay, besides fucking you into unconsciousness, I really do have something I want to show you. Something I hope you’ll like.”

She gazed at him, her brows narrowed. “What is it?”

“We’ll be there in thirty minutes. Can you wait that long?” His grin was infectious. His eyes drifted over her hardened nipples and down toward her soaked, quivering pussy.

She smiled, a devilish grin she could feel moving on her lips that matched his own sultry smile. Snickering, she thought,
the question’s not if I can wait, but can you?
“I’m not sure. We’ll just have to find out.”

He waggled his brows. “I’ll drive fast,” he promised.

She slid from his lap and leaned into his side. His strong arm was draped over her shoulder. She warned, “You better.”

Chapter Twelve

Passing the entrance to McCarthy Ranch, scanning askance, he saw her glance back over her shoulder. He figured she must be wondering what on earth he had in store for her. Plenty, he thought, shifting his hips as his dick grew uncomfortably hard. Before he could do what his cock commanded, he had to show her something that he hoped she would love and want to be a part of.

He pulled off the main road onto the next dirt path leading back into the woods, the property directly behind McCarthy Ranch. The drive down the bouncy gravel roadway was nothing to his truck, but did cause his cock to swell slightly more. An impossible feat, he was unable to resist the urge to steal a glance over at Megan and her supple breasts that jiggled joyfully with each bump he deliberately took. Suddenly, the image of her bouncing as she rode him had him harder than a steel spike and totally prepared to stop the truck and fuck her right in the back seat. Expeditiously, his mind created another sight his oversexed brain could barely handle, her sweet legs wrapped around his waist as he fucked her hot-blooded, curvaceous body on the hood of her little red sports car, showing her exactly what it meant to be possessed, desired, and mated.
