Fraser and Eden.”

A strong woman, a challenge to befriend but once you got there she was worth it. My fingers ran over the glass to the last man. Brown hair and green eyes, a warm personality showed in his soft smile.

Curtis.”

I put the frame back on the dresser and looked at one that caught my interest. As I picked up the frame I realized why I held issues in coming into this room. I remembered that I had been to his apartment on a regular basis but his bedroom door was either shut or partly closed. It was almost like this room was a no go zone, an unspoken agreement that no one entered without his permission. It wasn't because he was messy or he had something offensive, it was because he had something to hide.

A picture of me.

Well, it was of the two of us. Somewhere tropical again, he was in his board shorts and beautifully shirtless and I was in a tiny bikini. Really tiny. Considering that I had two mountains on my chest the bikini could be almost considered scandalous. I had my arms wrapped around his waist as I hugged him, his arm wrapped around my shoulder and the other stretched out to take the photo.

I smiled at the photo, in it we were both really happy and I understood why he could be so reluctant to start anything with me. If it went wrong he would lose out on moments like this one. But sometimes the risk was worth it.

Where is that Kaylee?”

I gasped and turned, Jaxon was standing behind me. His face was serious as he waited for my answer. Turning back to the image, I frowned. Somewhere... somewhere important. It was something important. I smiled as I remembered.

Maui, your birthday last year.”

Did you enjoy it Kaylee?”

Yes.” I grinned. “Loved every second of it.”

I put the frame back on the dresser and turned to look at him. He was wearing a shirt now, shoes on and his bag in his hand. We were ready to go.

Is everything okay?”

Yeah. They're just worried because we're taking too long. They think I'm going to do something dastardly in their absence.”

His eyes flickered with hesitation and then looked at me.

Not until you remember everything and the bruises are gone.”

Oh yeah sure, I knew that. Except that I totally didn't and was kind of hoping. One day it might happen. Maybe.

Chapter Thirteen

Four people sat on the lounge opposite me, Jaxon was beside me. We were starting with the basics, family. Once I remembered their names we would move forward to friends. I had begged Jaxon to tell me the woman's name. It was easy to see how easily crushed she could be and I knew that something as simple as me remembering her was important. I could remember her I just couldn't remember her name. Eleanor or El as everyone calls her.

Once he said it, it was like a light bulb went on in my mind. I also remembered Nathan and Brad. Nathan frowned at me and said that I called him Nate. They weren't responding well to the fact that Jaxon was on the lounge beside me or the fact that he was holding my hand. Something was amiss here and I was curious.

You are the contention.” Nate said with a dark, menacing tone.

I looked at Jaxon who seemed rather bewildered.

You asked what contention number two was in the intervention, well it's you. Every time you do something, every time you parade around with some woman on your arm, we are the ones that pick up the pieces. What are you going to do now? Is this forever or are we days away from your usual boredom and casting them away without a second thought?”

El settled her hand on his knee, trying to calm Nate. There was no point, I could see the anger in his eyes. He was determined to say what he had to and then he would settle.

Do you know what the weekend did to her? Were you there to find her drunk on the floor, laying on a smashed bottle? Were you the one to pick the glass out of her body while she cried because she didn't think that she was good enough for you? No, you were in LA, fucking some tramp who is out there telling the world how hard done by she is, who is out there bad mouthing Kaylee for no valid reason.”

I got Kevin on it Nate. Fucks sake, we've all had crap moments.”

I think he has raised a valid point Jaxon.” Jerry interrupted. “You average three days at best. Why is that?”

Jaxon lowered his head, the four of them waited. I waited. I wanted to know why he couldn't maintain a relationship for any length of time.

Because they weren't her.”

And it was that simple. I didn't know how many there had been in his past but I figured that there were a few. To know that I was better than them was a little gratifying. Even the panel of four seemed a little shocked.

Do you know how wrong it seems to watch someone grow up and know that deep down you love them? Well, it's seriously fucked up. I lose sleep over it, thinking that I'm some pervert that should be locked away. I drink to forget the pain and yeah okay, I've slept with way too many women but it's only to tell myself that my mind is lying to me.”

You're not a pervert Jaxon.” El chided him softly. “You've never laid a finger on her, the most you've given is a hug. One that no one in this room would be embarrassed to watch. Kaylee may not have a complete memory of everything that has passed between you but I do. She would tell me everything, especially when it came to you. I do not have an issue with the way that you have conducted yourself in her presence. Even when you might have been a little too intoxicated for her to witness, you were still well behaved. I think we can all attest to the fact that you never misbehaved. Kaylee certainly complained about it enough.”

Everyone nodded. Jeez, how much did I say to these people?

Did you know that my mother was sixteen when she married my father?”

Jaxon shook his head, even Nate and Brad were a little shocked.

Times are different now of course and even back then she had to have her father's permission to marry. Everyone is different, everyone ages differently. Kaylee is so independent and head strong. When you brought her to the house, I thought I was looking at an adult. In fact, Jerry and I had quite a lengthy discussion about it, didn't we darling?”

Jerry nodded as he stared at us, never breaking contact to look at her.

She carries herself in a manner that would have the world believe she is at least ten years older and I think we all know why that is. A year without her parents, having that vile uncle rob her of her inheritance and then dumped into the system has created an adult in a child's body. Did you think she was a child or an adult when you found her?”

Really young adult.” he said quietly.

El nodded supremely, her hands clasped on her lap.

And you said that you watched her grow up but you didn't. Not really. She was already an adult when she came to us. You just watched her come out of her shell and develop into the wonderful woman that we all love. That's the past now Jaxon, she's not a child anymore, is she?”

He looked at me and I offered a smile, worrying at those pained eyes.

You were a friend and nothing more. Now I think that I've had enough of this subject. Are we done boys?”

Jerry huffed but relented with a murmured agreement. Nate and Brad agreed but continued to stare at Jaxon.

Great.” she clasped her hands together with delight. “I brought out the photo albums. Kaylee's going to have a look through them and tell us what she remembers, aren't you darling?”

Sure thing mom.”

I looked through several thick books, laughing at the funny images, smiling at the happy ones. As I looked through the pictures that included Jaxon I understood why I loved him. There was always a happiness to him, an element of craziness. I laughed at the picture of his screwed up yet happy face, he was in bed under the sheets and sitting back against the head board. Evan was beside him on top of the sheets, Curtis on the other side. He was reading a book, it was a book that belonged to Austin and Curtis had it upside down. Evan was pulling a stupid face and Curtis looked like he was deep in thought as he pretended to read.

It did not make any sense to me, clearly I was missing something here. Jaxon gently coaxed me into trying to remember it, I had taken the picture. Then it hit me, the morning of Austin and Abbey's wedding. Austin was out of the picture but he was actually beside me. In his hands was Abbey's wedding present, a puppy and it was licking Jaxon's feet. I hadn't realized it at the time and I was trying to take some serious photos. Being that Abbey was a mad keen photographer I was trying to do my best even though it would never be as good as her work, so I told them to be serious. This was what I got and Abbey loved it.

Nate and Brad left after about an hour, leaving the awkward situation that was Jerry staring at us. When I grew tired I put the books onto the table.

I might finish them tomorrow if that's okay, I'm rather tired.”

Of course darling. Sleep well.”

Jaxon led me to my bedroom. In this rather large house that was occupied by Jerry and El for the majority of the time, I had an entire wing. It used to be the childrens wing of the house but now that the children were adults and had left home, it was a guest wing. The area consisted of three bedrooms, family bathroom and a lounge area.

I walked through what had once been my room, I had stayed here for a few years before venturing out on my own. Nate had been to my apartment and collected what looked like everything that I owned.

A picture sat on the top of the cabinet, me as a young teen and my parents. I smiled at the happy image, my real parents. Then the image of what I could only describe as a terrible dream flooded back. I was sitting on the center of the back seat, my father driving. My mother had turned to talk to me and I guess in a way she had shielded me from most of the impact. But not of the vision. Even though she blocked most of the view there was no escaping the vision of a truck hitting the center divider and becoming airborne, slamming into our car.

When I woke days later I knew that they were gone. How I survived was open to debate. Investigators had done their mapping, had reconstructed what they believed happened. They all agreed that I should be dead. They all said that I should thank the divine for my second chance. But why would I want to thank someone that ripped my parents from me?

Jaxon leaned on the door frame, fresh from his shower. He looked incredible in long bed pants, neatly tied at the waist band. A trail of hair led from his navel to below the bed pants and I wanted to undo that knot. But with a bruised body I wasn't going to get anything more than a kiss.

By his feet was a box that I didn't want to open, the memories came flooding back to remind me of the painful past. It was the first thing that I saw when I walked into the bedroom and I felt the dread build fast in my body. In the box was my world before the accident. It was baby photos, family photos, little mementos and trinkets that meant something to me. El and Jerry had to hound my dead shit uncle to hand them over. They even had to enlist the help of the lawyer, Kevin. The man I had dubbed the shark because he had a pearly white smile that hid the devil and the ferocious nature. He had tenacity and a nasty bite, that is if you were on the opposing team. And my uncle learned how nasty Kevin's bite was.

I remembered that he got my money back, well, getting it back. He had the jerk on an installment plan that was repaying it slowly. Kevin also made him retract all statements he had made about me, under the threat of defamation. All reports about my drug and alcohol abuse were withdrawn and a formal apology had been given. Then the cops paid my uncle a visit, inquiring as to why he made false reports about me. Needless to say, he regretted a lot of things.

Did you want to go through that?”

Not tonight.”

I put the picture back on the cabinet and collected my clothes. My body ached but standing under the warm shower was worth every second of the pain. Today had been a little harrowing. These people fought too much. They were easily angered to the situation they were in. But in saying that, they also got over it quickly too. Like the hospital, they fought and they came to an agreement. It wasn't straight away but it did happen. And earlier on, Nate looked like he wanted to rip Jaxon's head off yet with a few moments and some soft words from El, all was well again.

These people were strange yet I knew that I loved them. I knew that I wouldn't want to be without them. Which begged the question as to why I had run away. What happened to change my mind and my love for these people? I knew the answer. Nate's anger was enough to tell me it had something to do with Jaxon. But what was that something?

Chapter Fourteen

Jaxon was in the lounge area watching television when I emerged from the shower. I sat on the lounge beside him, snuggling into his body as we watched in silence. His arm was around me, holding me tight in the darkened room. All that lit the area was the light from the television, constantly flickering with the scenes.

It was one of their music videos, one of my favorites. I knew this, as I watched it I knew that I loved this song but I did not know why. The video was vision of a live gig, a festival that was just over a year ago. I had gone with them, mostly so that I could go and see the other bands. I disguised my want to go to the festival as being supportive.

The crowd was thick, stretching far and wide. The band had played a set of five songs, ones that were predetermined at a meeting several months before. Then out of nowhere this song came up. Eden nearly had a coronary at the thought of something that wasn't planned but that was how these guys worked. They didn't plan things like that, they went with the feel of the crowd.

What made it worse was that it was a new song, one that hadn't been recorded, one that management didn't know about. It wasn't crass or rude, in fact it was the complete opposite. The song could almost be considered a love song.

When quizzed about it by Eden and my father, they refused to tell. Eden had even threatened to withhold sex from Fraser which didn't work. He knew his wife couldn't go without for even a day. So the origin of this song remains a mystery to this day. It made its way onto the next album and became a hit. I wondered if my lack of memory might get information out of Jaxon.

His face was stoic as he stared at the screen. Light and shadows danced over his face, a slight grin curled into his lips.

What?” he said cheekily.

I was just thinking that it's a great song. Who wrote it?”

I did.”

His voice was soft, a whisper that was barely audible. But in those two words I had made progress. No one had claimed ownership of the song. On the album it was credited to the entire band rather than one person.

What's it about?”

Songs don't have to be about anything in particular Kaylee.”

I wasn't buying that load of plop.

That might be true but in this case, I don't agree. This song means something. What's it about?” I asked again.

You.”

Oh.

Well I guess that explains why no one would claim ownership, they were probably made to keep quiet. Like I had made them. I gasped quietly as I remembered. They knew that I liked him. No, that I loved him. Far out, these guys were stuck in some weird tug of war between Jaxon and I. Made to keep secrets and pretend that they don't really know things. It was crazy. They probably wanted desperately to blurt everything out but like the both of us, feared things would go bad.

Did you know that this is my favorite song?”

Jaxon looked at me, a soft smile played across his lips. He hadn't shaved, the stubble looked small and sharp. I reached out to touch it, to feel the bite of the hair against the soft flesh of my palm. It felt so good, not just the sensation but the emotion attached to it. More so when his eyes closed to enjoy the touch.

He pulled me onto his lap, his fingers trailed large circles over my hips. They splayed out over the skin, slipping below the fabric of my underpants. I leaned down to kiss him, my lip still tender from the cut that had emerged since the last kiss but I didn't care.

His skin was warm, my hands rested on his broad shoulders. Our kiss deepened, his tongue caressed over mine, tracing past my lips. He pulled away to lean back onto the couch, a satisfied smile crossing his face. But I wanted more. I didn't have my complete memory back yet and I still had a few bruises on my face so I knew that trying to get more out of him was going to be difficult. My hands lifted the camisole, getting to the ribs when he stopped me.

Memory returned and no bruises.”

I wanted to pout and throw a temper tantrum, to cry and complain that it was a two way street and what I wanted mattered just as much as what he did. But no one wants to see or hear that. So with that thought in mind I smiled deviously at him and got off his lap.

As I walked away I lifted my shirt off and turned my upper half back to him, throwing the shirt at him. Then I continued to my bedroom.

Silence filled the night air, the television had been turned off rather quickly. I stood by the bed in my bed shorts, pulling the sheets back. Firm and warm hands gripped my hips from behind, a soft kiss placed on my shoulder.

You're killing me, did you know that?”

I smiled, silently enjoying the moment. Then I flicked my bed shorts off my hips, letting them drop to the ground. I climbed into the bed and pulled the sheets over me. Jaxon stood at the edge of the bed, completely stunned.

Can I uh..”

I nodded, sliding back to let him in.

Pants.” I said, stopping him. “If you want to wear them you have to go back to your own bed. In here it's nothing.”

His eyes narrowed at me with a restrained grin. The light from the moon was bright enough to show all that I wanted to see without giving away too much. Beautiful.

One finger reached for the string that was knotted and tied into a bow. I slid back over and pushed it away, taking the string and slowly tugging it out. Jaxon tried to stop me but the view of me naked on the bed before him was too much.

I watched him gulp hard as I used both hands to slowly pull the waistband down. The pads of my fingers dragged over his skin.

Kaylee.” he chided, stopping me before I got too far.

My room, my rules. Don't like it, then get out.”

Then I smacked his hand away and continued to pull the pants down. He was aroused, he had been since we were on the lounge. But actually facing a hard cock was something entirely different. I couldn't even remember if I'd had sex before. With a slight frown as I reached the hair line, the memory of the fact that I was a virgin came flooding back to me.

But the more concerning thought was if Jaxon knew. He would be gentle, I knew he would. There was no doubt about it. In my current state or repaired and fully functioning, it didn't matter. He would always be a caring lover. I wondered if there was some kind of unwritten law or code that said that a person should tell a prospective lover if they are a virgin or not. Maybe.

Tracing through the curls I found him, pulling him free and tugging the pants to his legs. He let out a soft guttural groan as I gripped him. My thumb and index finger didn't touch and I knew that kind of girth was going to hurt.

I had dreamed of this moment, of holding him in my hand and readying to give him pleasure. I'd researched it too. Lonely nights and a laptop computer gave me an education in all that I needed to know. Probably not the right kind of education but without life experience it was all I had.

His hand cupped my jaw as I took that first tentative taste of him. The smell of soap filled the air, a bead of pre-cum slipped out as I traced my tongue over him. As my tongue swirled around his head he gasped, closing his eyes for a moment.

When I drew him into my mouth and pumped the shaft with my hand, his eyes opened and looked down at me. Desire was wild in his eyes, soft groans of pleasure spurred me on. Thank you internet porn.

I had to say, I liked this giving head business. Well no, I liked giving Jaxon head. The rest of the males in this world could go to hell, none of them would ever taste this good. My tongue flattened along the underside of his cock, sliding up the length. A dirty grin played across my lips, enjoying it as I drew him back into my mouth.

Having fun?”

I giggled with him still in my mouth. Slowly I dragged my lips over him, sucking on the head hard.

Did you know it's obvious when a chick loves giving head?”

Jaxon moved away as I shook my head. He leaned down for a harsh and short kiss.

It is and fuck baby, that was amazing. Who taught you that?”

The internet.” I sighed.

Did you remember that?”

I nodded and laid back on the mattress as he knelt in between my legs. As he sat back on his legs, his hands ran over mine and stopped at the knees.

It's okay Kaylee, we're going to go real slow. I'm not going to lie, you know as well as I do it's going to hurt but I'll be as gentle as I can, I promise.”

Okay.”

He leaned over to kiss me, settling his body against mine. I groaned, feeling the pressure of him against me. It hadn't occurred to me how aroused I might have been but feeling him and his hardness against my sensitive skin was incredible. My groan was muffled by his insistent kiss, his tongue delving deep into my mouth.

I reciprocated, finding the heated kiss was just as arousing as Jaxon rubbing his cock over my clit. No, scratch that. There was nothing as good as that feeling. I gasped for air as his lips left mine, trailing over my jaw and down my neck.

One hand wrapped its fingers around my overly abundant breast, the other breast was lavished by a wet tongue. Okay, I found a new favorite thing about sex. He could suck, kiss and lap his tongue over my breasts whenever he wanted. I'd walk around the house naked just to ensure they were always available for him.

My mouth opened and a moan escaped as his fingers toyed with my nipple. His teeth grazed over them and his lips tugged on them. I looked down and saw those cheeky eyes staring up at me, with a grin his tongue trailed over the hard nipple.

A heavy heat rushed straight through me and I groaned, loudly. Pleasure filled me and my body bucked as it sizzled.

Oh god.” I groaned.

My body fell back to the mattress and I smiled, enjoying the last of the euphoria. Jaxon kissed his way down my body, pulling my legs a little wider. He settled onto the mattress on his stomach, a view of me in all my glory. Aroused, so aroused I was probably dripping.

His thumb traced over me and a jolt of pleasure rocketed through me.

Prop yourself up with the pillows.”

I did as he said, now more upright. Now I had a better view of him as he moved closer. His tongue slicked over his lips, like he was a man that was starved of water and had just found it. The thumb trailed over me again, teasing and stroking. He lowered to me, the tongue taking the same path as his thumb.

A meek moan escaped me as I watched. His lips pressed hard, his tongue darted and circled. It felt so good. New favorite sex act found. His hands had been by his face, the fingers opening me a little wider. Now they moved around the outside of my legs, pulling me open more. His face buried deeper into me, his eyes looked up at me.

With a wink I was set off, the pleasure pummeling me harder than before. My hand found its way into his hair, refusing to let him leave.

Oh god, don't stop.” I moaned.

His kiss became more insistent, pressing harder, lavishing that amazing tongue more. He'd lap and lick, he'd circle and he'd suck, tugging on the skin. My body finally let go, ecstasy ripping through me as I groaned loudly.

I laid on the bed, staring off into the unknown for a few seconds. Deliriously happy and enjoying the nips of kisses as Jaxon made his way up my body.

Damn girl, you cum hard. Do I have any hair left?”

All I could do was giggle, wrapping my arms around him as he laid against my body.

Is that why men go bald, cuz they give such great head?”

Must be.”

I don't want to go bald babe, so from now on I'm going to tie you to the bed.”

I laughed, stopping when a shadow of doubt crossed his face.

I'll be back in a second.”

That was a little odd. I said nothing after all, he said he'd be back. But still, doubt started to build.

Relief flooded through me when he walked back in.

You wanna do it? I can see that you like playin' with him.”

Sure.”

I sat up and took the packet from him, ripping it open and looking at the odd little rubbery thing inside. I'd never bothered buying a packet of condoms to inspect them so I had absolutely no idea what they were like or even how to put one on.

Hold it there, put it on and roll it down.”

I did as he said, his hands guiding me. When it was done he held out a tube with a dirty grin.

Go nuts, lube me up.”

His hands went to his hips as I took the tube of lubricant from him, a cheesy grin on his face as he did his best superman pose. Ecstasy shone bright on his face as I rubbed the liquid over him.

Your turn.”
