Jacks, Marcy - The Blind Werewolf Assassin [DeWitt's Pack 4] (Siren Publishing Everlasting Classic ManLove) (11 page)

Adam wrapped his arms around Nick’s back and let his cheek rest  against his strong chest, right on the place that had been ripped open  by the force of the bullet that had struck him. There wasn’t so much  as a scar, and there hadn’t been any signs an injury had even occurred.  Whether it was the pond or not, something had healed him.  “Whatever it was that water did, I’m so fucking happy it did it.”

“Me, too,” Nick said, his fingers tickling a trail down Adam’s  back.

The fact  that that plain little pond might’ve had some healing powers that no one in DeWitt’s pack knew of all this time…

It was mind boggling.

Adam wondered if Deacon knew, even before he was killed and

came back to life. He was always fighting with James over the ownership of that pond, after all.

Then something occurred to Adam, and he looked up into Nick’s  milky-brown eyes.

There was no change in them. The pupils didn’t get any bigger or  smaller, suggesting Nick was focusing on an object in front of him.

Yes, he was still blind.

“What is it?” Nick asked.

Adam shook his head. “I would’ve thought that, because the pond brought you back to life, you’d be able to see again, too. You can’t see me at all.”

Nick brought his mouth down and kissed Adam between the eyes.

His fingers touched Adam’s lips, and Adam smiled. “I don’t need to see to know when you’re smiling at me.”

Adam was glad for that. He was glad there were no regrets, and he

sank back into Nick’s arms, letting their body heat intermingle.

“I did see something, though. Right when I was coming back. For  a second I did think my eyesight was going to come back.”

Adam looked up at him. “What did you see?”

He envisioned something like that, sight that had not been used in  years, would be more like a foggy haze that Nick would struggle to  see through.

Nick smiled. “I saw your face.”

Adam blushed, and he was glad Nick couldn’t see it.

But Nick’s hands touched his face. “Your cheeks are warm.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Adam muttered, and then because he absolutely  had to, needed it because they hadn’t made love since before Nick  was shot three days ago, Adam kissed his neck. He allowed his hand  to slip down and squeeze Nick’s thigh, letting the other man know  exactly what Adam was after.

Nick seemed surprised. “You’re not too tired?”

“No. Please tell me you’re not either. I really need you right now.”

Nick was silent for a minute, and for a split second Adam worried  that, for once, his werewolf assassin just might be too tired for sex.

Instead he said, “Everyone’s sleeping, but their heartbeats and  breathing…it’s not a deep sleep. We’ll have to be quiet.”

“I can do that.”

Adam would find a way to have their covert sex silently and unbeknownst to witnesses so long as he got laid in the process. That was how much he needed the other man.

He was the one to be shocked when Nick got to his hands and knees, exposing himself for Adam to see.

Not that he wanted to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, especially with the way his cock was swelling and pulsing with blood, but—“Not going to fight me for it?”

Though Nick couldn’t see, he still looked over his shoulder toward the sound of Adam’s voice. “I need this just as much as you do at this point. Now get over here and fuck me before I change my mind.”

“Yes, sir.”
