Chapter 12
Kaylen waited four whole days before Ice came back to L.A. she so was happy that he made it back to her. Ice was like her best friend and that’s an understanding that they both had. She was at the airport waiting on her man to walk out of the gates. He promised to stay for a whole week and she was more than happy because of that.
Kaylen patiently waited another twenty minutes before she spotted Ice. She ran to him and leaped into his arms. To say she missed him was an understatement. She stopped acting like she didn’t care and swallowed her pride. She was nice and accepting of Ice. She was finally showing what she felt inside.
“I missed you,” she said as she kissed his soft lips.
“I missed you more,” he said holding her so she wouldn’t fall.
“I’m happy that you’re here,” she said hugging him tight and he gave her the same tight hug back.
“I am too.”
Kaylen got off of him so they could hurry up and go home. She had already prepared dinner for him earlier and all she had to do was heat it up. She was doing the normal things she would do when she was in a relationship if they were deserving of it. When they got home Ice went to unpack his bag and kicked back. Him and Kaylen were cuddled up on the couch staring at the T.V. screen. Kaylen was listening to his heartbeat as she laid on his chest and Ice wanted to tell her about Natasha.
“I handled my situation with Natasha,” he said.
“What happened?”
“I went over to her house as soon as I got back home last week and set her ass straight. She knows what it is now and she’ll leave you alone.”
“You think she will though?”
“She doesn’t have a choice. I told her I’m not letting her chase you away. That shit gotta end.”
“Well I’m here to stay and you’re not going anywhere,” she said sitting on top of him. Ice smirked.
“Is that right?” he cockily asked pulling her down on him so he could bite her on her neck.
Kaylen laughed and felt a rush through her body when he bit her. Their chemistry was amazing and their sexual attention was on an all time high. Whenever she was around Ice she wanted to fuck him so bad even when she was mad at him but she never did. She didn’t want to come off as aggressive so fast even though they’ve known each other for a long time.
“You play too much you know what you’re doing,” she said and he smirked again.

The kind of smile Ice plastered on Kaylen’s face every time was unlike any other smile. She looked like a little girl having a crush for the first time. She was happy and the feelings she had for him was very different from what she has ever experienced. She lifted up her shirt and threw it across the room. The look on his face was priceless as his dick jolted. He was serious now and the look on his face changed. Both of their eyes were hypnotizing as they drew each other in. Ice picked her up and Kaylen held on tight as he went into her bedroom. If he was going to have sex with her he was going to do it right. He wasn’t going to fuck her he was going to make love to her tonight.
Ice laid her out on the bed slowly getting familiar with every crease and fold of her body. He did things to her that he has imagined since he first met her. Chapter 13
The next morning Kaylen woke up in Ice’s arms and she smiled. Being up under him was something she didn’t want to change. She pecked his cheek before she attempted to get up from out of the bed but her pussy sent her right back to bed. This was the first time she was ever so sore. Ice didn’t give her a break until the wee hours of the morning.
She tried to get up once more and had the confidence that she could walk to the bathroom to take care of her hygiene. She was actually very surprised that she was so sore. Well she knew now not to play around with Ice. She went into the bathroom to take her shower. It was a bit of a struggle but she managed to get it done. After taking care of her hygiene she went into the kitchen to make breakfast before she had to get ready for work. This week she had a light schedule since Ice was in town. She had two customers per day until he left.
She made pancakes, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. She didn’t know what time he was going to be up so she wrapped his food up with foil and set it aside for him. She had to hurry up and get dressed. After Kaylen was ready for work she woke him up before she left.
“Good morning,” he said with his eyes still close.
“I’m going to work I’ll see you later. Go back to sleep I know the pussy is good,” she laughed kissing him once more before she left.
It took her thirty minutes to get to her salon. She first went to her station to plug up all of her hot combs and flat irons before she went into her office to put up her bag. Her client was supposed to arrive in fifteen minutes so she was getting everything ready before she came. She hated to be unprepared and having her clients waiting on her. After everything was set up her client came on time.
“Hey boo, come sit down,” Kaylen said patting her chair.
“How have you been?” Patricia asked.
“I’ve been really good what about you?”
“I’ve been great too I can’t wait to get my hair laid today. Roderick comes home today from the Army.”
“I know you missed your man a lot.”
“Girl too much,” she laughed.
Kaylen laid Patricia’s hair to the Gods. She gave her a full weave with big bouncy curls that complimented her face. After a long three hours Patricia was done and walking out of the door. Kaylen had an hour left to herself before her next client. She went into her office to see if Ice called her. He did call her but she was working so she couldn’t answer. She grabbed a twenty from out of her wallet and her phone to call Ice back as she went across the street really fast to grab a protein smoothie for her break.
“Wassup baby?” Ice said when he answered the phone.
“Hey baby, what are you doing?”
“About to head over Jared house in a minute what are you doing?”
“Grabbing a smoothie from across the street really quick.”
“What time are you coming home?”
“In about four hours, I’m waiting for my next client.”
“Meet me at Jared’s house when you get off of work alright?”
“Alright I’ll be there.”
They talked a little while longer until Ice headed over to Jared’s house. Even though he was in town for Kaylen he still had some business to take care of. Donte had dropped off one of his cars he wasn’t driving for Ice to use while he was in town. He had dropped it off to Kaylen’s house earlier during the week since Kaylen only had one car.
Ice, Jared, and Donte had to go over their numbers for the month. All three men had something to bring to the table to help out their business. Ice did all of the accounting and keeping track of the numbers, Jared was responsible for the product, and Donte handled the connect. They had their operation down pat. Ice drove up the long driveway and walked straight into the house since Jared had the door opened for him.
“Wassup?” Ice said walking into the house finding Jared in the kitchen.
“Wassup bruh, you good?” Jared asked.
“Yeah I’m straight wassup little man?” Ice said to Justin.
“Donte said he’s five minutes away so let’s go in the office,” Jared said before taking Justin upstairs to Jasmine.
In the office Ice automatically went into boss mode and started to work. He was very serious when he was adding up his numbers. One little mistake could cost someone their life. When Donte came over he also got to work. For hours the three of them stayed locked up in the office taking care of business until everything was perfect.
Kaylen had arrived to Jared’s house a while ago but she didn’t bother Ice because she knew how serious he was when he’s taking care of business. She was in the backyard with Jasmine and Mariah watching the children run around and play together. She knew something was wrong with Mariah because she looked irritated.
“What’s wrong with you?” Kaylen asked Mariah.
“Nothing is wrong,” Mariah nonchalantly said.
“Bitch stop lying. You’ve been acting funny for a minute,” Jasmine said sipping on her wine. Kaylen and Jasmine both gave her a look that told her to spill the tea.
“Fine. I think Donte is cheating on me,” she blurted out.
Both Jasmine and Kaylen’s eyes opened wide. Mariah and Donte always kept their problems at home and it was very rare to know that they were going through something. It was sad to even think that Donte would hurt Mariah in that way. Mariah has been having an eerie feeling about Donte ever since they came back from Cabo. Donte denied every accusation Mariah accused him of but her woman intuition told her something different.
“You lying,” Kaylen said.
“No I’m not. When we was in Cabo some bitch was blowing up his phone then we got into this big ass argument over it. I don’t see how bitches even have his number to begin with. I really thought that he changed but I guess not.”
“He got us fucked up!” Jasmine said standing up getting ready to curse Donte out but Mariah pulled her back down.
“Chill out,” Mariah said.
“I just can’t see him cheating on you Mariah. If that’s the case brother or not he’s dumb as fuck!” Kaylen said.
“I’m not sure but I haven’t been feeling him lately. I’m damn near thirty and I feel like I’m wasting my time. We’ve been together for years, I held his ass down, I have his daughter, and still yet it’s not like he can fully commit to me. We aren’t going to ever get married,” Mariah said shaking her head.
“Don’t say that girl. It could be nothing and you might just be tripping,” Kaylen tried to defend her brother.
“If it is something you know I don’t mind fucking shit up for my sis,” Jasmine said.
Chapter 14
Mariah couldn’t go to sleep because Donte wasn’t home and it was going on two in the morning. One thing about Mariah she will never nag Donte, she’ll just leave him quietly with his guilt. She had called Jasmine earlier to check to see if Donte was at her house but he wasn’t. She made the same phone call to Kaylen and he wasn’t there either. His phone went straight to voicemail earlier and she didn’t bother to call again.
A tear rolled down her cheek as she tried to fight back the other tears. She didn’t want to be crying over him. She was too grown to be dealing with these games. She knew the kind of life Donte lived before they got together. Never once did she try to change him he did that on his own because he wanted to do it.
Here she was sitting in this big ass house but at the same time it was so empty. She hasn’t been happy ever since they came back from Cabo. The voice of the woman who called Donte’s phone was embedded in her mind and she’ll never forget it. She knew for sure that Donte was out being shady again but what could she do about it? She was a full time mom. She didn’t work anymore and all she did was take care of the house and Mila.
She heard the alarm disarm in the midst of her thoughts. She didn’t move an inch she just sat in the same position she has been in for the last two hours. She heard him coming up the stairs and when he entered in the room he didn’t even look at her. She continued to look at him to make sure that he saw how late she stayed up to see when he came home.
“Wassup?” Donte finally said.
Mariah didn’t utter a word. He shrugged his shoulders and undressed from out of his clothes. He plugged his phone on the charger and sat it on the nightstand. He went into the bathroom to take a shower before he got in bed. Mariah felt like she was slowly losing all of her faith inside. His phone vibrated with a text this late. Mariah didn’t even have the strength to look at his phone to see who it was texting him. They say don’t go searching for something you don’t want to find.
When Donte came out of the bathroom he turned off the lights and jumped into bed right next to Mariah. She turned her back to him and silently cried herself to sleep. Something had to give. She couldn’t keep living her life like this.
