Lost In Our Darkness (Demons Of Darkness Book 2) (25 page)

I spent most of the night awake staring at my boys trying to decipher who they looked most like. The thing is, with babies they all look alike. If you have seen one you have seen them all. By the time morning came around I couldn’t see straight. I just wanted a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. Being at a hospital though, that wasn’t going to happen. When I couldn’t sleep they left me alone but by the time I finally closed my eyes one of the boys would cry, then the other would start to cry or a nurse would come in to check on me. I was worn out and I had no idea how I was going to deal with having two newborns and two toddlers.

I was screwed. At least I had Serena to help, and depending on who ended up being the father I may have them to help too but I wasn’t counting on it. Although it would be nice if Nix actually came around and helped take care of Zaiden and Lily. Not that I was holding my breath on that one. He may have said he wanted to be with me but if these babies turned out to be Payne’s I knew he would turn tail and run just like he had when he found out there was a possibility that the twins weren’t his.

“Hello?” The nurse knocked as she pushed the door open. I sat up in bed as she walked closer to me holding two envelopes in her hands. “I think you have waited long enough for the results.”

I nodded as she handed them over.

“Would you like me to explain them to you?”

I shook my head no. She walked out of the room as I stared at the two envelopes in my hands. One stated Baby A and the other Baby B. I took a deep breath and opened the first envelope Baby A. I read through the letter. A tear slid down my cheek as I read the results. I opened the envelope marked Baby B. Reading through the results. Baby A and Baby B had the same father. I smiled as another tear slid down my cheek. I picked up the phone and made the call.

“Trix.”

“Hey, just got the results, I’m sorry but they are not yours.”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah. Um I got to go I have another call to make.”

“Thanks for letting me know Trix.”

I hung up and dialed the other phone number.

“Babe.”

“I got the results. Congratulations you are the father of the twins.”

“Babe. I’m on my way.”

I nodded, not that he could see me, and hung up.

Serena came in as I sat there with the phone in my hand and tears running down my cheeks. I held out the envelopes to her. She sat down as she read the results. “Does he know?”

“Yeah they both do. He’s on his  way.”

She gave me a faint smile and nodded. Before I could say anything else the babies both started crying. I reached for Baby A as Serena reached for Baby B. They were hungry. Serena handed me a bottle and then grabbed one for herself. We sat there in silence as we fed the babies. I heard a knock at the door and we both looked up as Nix walked through the door.

They were both mine. Two babies and they were both mine. I was getting ready to leave for the hospital when Trix called and gave me the news. It was as if a weight was lifted off of my chest. I wanted them to be mine but I wasn’t sure. When Payne showed back up at the clubhouse last night he told me that he had twins in his family and we both agreed that no matter who was the babies’ father that we would let Trix decide what or who she wanted to be with. He said that he would stick around but would respect that I already had a child with Trix.

I parked my bike and all but ran up to Trix’s hospital room. When I walked inside she looked up at me. Finally I had my woman and my kids. We would make this work. I walked over to her as she sat in the hospital bed and sat down next to her and pressed a kiss to her head as I looked down at the baby boy who lay in her arms.

“You know you can never get rid of me right?”

She nodded. “Yeah and I don’t want to.”

“Trix, no matter what, you are never going to be alone. These last few months I have been a complete asshole. I don’t want to lose you.”

“You won’t Nix. It’s me and you. I would rather be lost in the darkness with you than be lost alone.”

“Marry me, Trix.”

She nodded as tears streamed down her face. “Yeah.”

I leaned in and pressed a kiss to her forehead. Finally after everything we had been through she was mine and there was no way I was letting her get away from me this time.”

She pulled away and looked at me. “We need to name our boys first.”

“I thought you already did.”

“Nah, Zae tried to name them both Zae.” She laughed then looked down at the baby in her arms. “How about Zander for this one and…” she paused as Serena brought over Baby B and placed him in my arms. We both looked down at him.

“Zachary.” I said as I looked up at Trix. She smiled and nodded.

Epilogue

6 months later

I watched my wife as she danced around the center of the room. Wearing a red mini dress and my cut. She was fucking hot. I finally made her my wife. She made me wait until she lost all the extra weight she gained from the twins even though I tried to marry her the day she came home from the hospital. I didn’t want her to have a chance to run. I had waited long enough to make her mine. She looked over at me as I leaned against the bar drinking a beer. Everything had finally fallen into place. I pushed off the bar and made my way over to her ,wrapping my arms around her as she looked up at me.

“Always the light in my darkness.” She smiled as I leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips.

“As you are mine. Black heart and all, you’re mine.”

She was finally mine and only mine.

We stood there staring into each other’s eyes. I started to pull her to the bar with me when all hell broke loose. The entire building shook as everything around us went black.
