Lynnia (43 page)

Wynter

The new website was the brain child of a computer graphics genius. The young man was amazing.  He worked on Chyra’s site then worked on Lynnia’s.  After he completed there’s, he was recruited to work on the rest of the sisters’ sites as well as their mother’s.  When Wynter had talked to the young Edward W. N., he’d made her laugh so hard with his words.  Who would’ve thought a man two years younger than Chyra would clearly understand the dynamics of her family in such a short time.

“Yeah, I appreciate the ability to work on all of these sites.  It’s been amazing and fun even.  The threat that L. and Chy threw at me had me a little concerned for my well being.  Do a good job.  Make sure that all are satisfied.  Mess this up and find my goods served on a platter as a specialty dish on their dinner menu.”

Wynter couldn’t suppress the laughter that erupted from her chest as she watched his fingers fly across the keys of his keyboard.

“Oh wow.  That sounds exactly like something that Doc Quinnie and Evie would say.  The two of them have never been known to hold their tongue especially when it comes to our family.  It’s funny because the majority of the people that know all of us say they are the most physically afraid of the two of them.  They are the youngest and the tiniest in the crew.  I always say their bark is just as big as their bite.”

They both shared a laugh before he shared the flip side of their threat.

“I was really nervous when they told me that.  I think I’m even more nervous now.  The other side of that is they made a promise to me.  Of course it came after the threat.  Do well.  Make everyone happy and more business will come my way.  They said the spouses would probably want to work with me.  Just the other day, I received a phone call from Mr. Kenyon.  He told me that he liked what I’d done with his wife’s site and was willing to have me work alongside his team to improve his own.  He also said that he recommended me to one of his clients.  I think that means that my man parts are safe.”

“For now,” they said at the same time.

“It is a good thing.  James doesn’t do business with just anyone.  If he’s willing to work with you, then that means a lot.  The fact that he is willing to put the word out there for you is even better.  I know that Claudia Dean practically demanded he hand over your information,” Wynter had stated as she took a drink of her raspberry tea.

It took her a moment to notice that he’d gone quiet.  His glasses were no longer on his face and he was staring off into space.  His fingers had been steadily in motion.  Now they ceased to move even an inch.  Wynter went to touch his hand and that’s when he reacted.

“Sorry.  Did you say Claudia Dean is the person that Mr. Kenyon is sending the actress, model, singer extraordinaire to have me, Wil … Ed … I can’t believe it.  Wait, you know her?  How do you know her?  I can’t believe she’d even want to work with me?”

“Yes.  She was pretty adamant about it, too.  She’s always been that way.  I won’t tell you how I know her. That’s her story to tell.  Just know that she is one of my closest friends and quite tech savvy all on her own.  She might teach you a thing or two, young man.”

Wynter could tell that she was losing her audience by the lack of response.  After that, he closed up his laptop and tablet, picked up his phone and gave a quick kiss on the cheek before running out the door.  It wasn’t until after he was gone that she noticed the money on the table.  He’d paid for lunch even though he knew she hated him doing that.  The thought of being there the moment that he met Claudia Dean had her smiling.  The curls of his shoulder length brown hair might just straighten upon sight of the infamous woman.

Looking out the large picture window of the library at Chyra’s mini palace, Wynter saw Claudia Dean’s car as it pulled up.  Seeing her friend’s car had triggered the memory of the twenty-four year old male that had worked his way into the hearts of all the sisters.  Tomorrow, one of his dreams would come true and he would meet the icon herself in person.  Wynter was happy to see that her friend was early.  She’d worried that she would miss the big surprise.
