Diego listened in the back of the limo as Lance spoke to Marcella’s friend Susan. He could only hear half of the conversation. He waited. The car circled the Catholic church headed to Leytonstone. She’s in Paris.” Lance said, slipping the phone back to his inside pocket.

No, her friend Susan is in Paris. I told her I’d be in town tomorrow and I wanted to see her.”

They were really close.” Diego, mumbled, remembering that the two used to live together. “It’s no coincidence that they are both out of the States. If she’s there then so is my Marcella.”

Okay what was so important that you had to leave me with Alexandria Dubois?” Marcella said backing Susan into her office.

Marcella flinched. Susan slapped her forehead. “Hey, that came out wrong.”
She waved off the apology. “Forget it. Just make your drive-by after we get through setting up theQuincy DeMarcos collection. If Alexandria is going to be making impromptu visits then I want it all in order.”

Okay, where is she? Still peeking in our cupboards?”

I left her in your office on the phone.” Marcella smirked.

Thanks a lot.”
Susan walked out. Marcella circled her desk and sat behind it. She kicked off her heels and reclined in the office chair. Along with the morning sickness came the fatigue. As her eyes closed she placed a hand to her flat tummy and smiled. Suddenly she was excited over what tomorrow would bring. “Fresh start. This is our new beginning.”
