Prince of Pleasure (7 page)

A slight smile tugged at her lips and she eased closer to him, her upper garment half on, half off. He removed it so that her breasts were free for him to touch. She put her hands to his chest. “I do have to go home soon, though. My friend will worry about me. She needs to know I’m okay.”

He nodded. “I will take you there come morn light. But you will not remain there,
ta’konima.”

“What does that mean?” she asked. “What you keep calling me.”

“My love,” he returned. There was a rustling in the tree line off to their right. Rossi grabbed Lucy and thrust her behind him as he dodged for his sword. He grabbed it as she grabbed her clothing and began to dress quickly.

“What is it? Is Manyer back?”

At the name of one of the meanest, most vile guards of the vultures, Rossi’s lip curled. If Manyer had been who had taken Lucy, then the man had planned to harm her. “I do hope so. I wish to remove his head.”

Lucy hopped on one foot as she donned her trews, touching his extended wing, sending pleasure racing to his groin. There was nothing more erotic than having one’s wing stroked by one’s mate. He’d heard tales told of it, but now he knew them to be true without a shadow of a doubt.

He had to force himself to stand at the ready, sword in hand, cock hard. He cared little about being seen naked by the enemy. “Stay behind me.”

“Not a problem,” said Lucy.

Rossi watched as Aeson emerged from the wooded area. His brother stopped, looked Rossi up and down, and then burst into laughter. “She said you might need assistance. Tell me my wife did not send me to help you find your trews.” He stared past Rossi to Lucy and offered a charming smile. “And you must be the human my wife told me of.”

Lucy eased around Rossi, holding his trews out to him. “Here. Who is he?”

“One of my brothers,” spat Rossi, keeping his sword aimed at Aeson.

Lucy pushed on his arm, making him lower his sword. As he looked at her, he realized she did not have the harness on her breasts as she had before their lovemaking session. Beneath the Rebels were two glorious mounds, tempting him. “Prince Charming, don’t stab your brother. I want to meet him and his wife. Is she the human queen?”

“That is another of my brothers,” said Rossi with a sigh, taking his trews.

“How many brothers do you have?” she asked.

He glanced at Aeson, who laughed more. Rossi groaned. “There are eight men in my family in total. I am the youngest.”

“Eight?” she echoed. “I’m not expected to have eight kids, am I? I mean, as your wife and all?”

He stopped wanting to kill Aeson and eased his trews on, pleased she’d called herself his wife. “You will more than likely birth more than one child at a time.”

“Are you knocking my hip size, bucko?” she demanded.

“I have no idea what that means. I simply mean it is common for our magik to cause multiple births to come from one gestation period.”

“Oh,” she said and then gasped. “Oh!”

“Come, my love,” he said, as dressed now as he planned to be. He put his hand out to her. “Let me introduce you to your new family.”

“Yes, come, Rebel,” said Aeson. “They are dying to meet the woman who tamed Rossi.”
