Author Bios

Gustavo “Goose” Alvarez
was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Raised in West Los Angeles, he was in and out of juvenile and adult correctional facilities for various crimes from ages sixteen to thirty-nine. While serving time in Tehachapi State Prison, he became a part of a mentorship program for at-risk kids called S.E.E.K., and successfully completed a twelve-step recovery program. In May 2013, he was released from federal prison and has never looked back.

Clifton Collins Jr.
is a native Angeleno and has been acting since 1987, when he appeared in his first movie, One Eight Seven, opposite Samuel L. Jackson. He has played everything from a gay Mexican hit man in the movie
Traffic
to a Vietnam-era Southern soldier in
Tigerland
to the character Romeo in the film
The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day
. He is particularly well known for his portrayal of Perry Smith, the killer who was the object of writer Truman Capote’s obsession in
Capote
. He also voiced the fictional video game character Cesar Vialpando in
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
.
