Swept Away (31 page)

Soaking in every word, no one spoke.

Heather smiled. “You girls are so blessed to be here together. You have each other, and you’re getting it right. Many girls just continue down the path toward a lifetime of low self-esteem and sexual relationships, never finding true love.”

Lilly nodded. There it was again—true love.

“Together,” Heather continued, “we’re going to find out what true love is. We’ll know it so well that no boyfriend, no relationship, will ever come close to measuring up to the true love of God.” She smiled at each girl.

“Sound okay, Lilly?”

“Sounds great to me.” Lilly relaxed in her chair. It was over. She forgave herself—the final hump toward complete healing.

My Decision

I,
(include your name here)
, have read the story of Lilly LeMure and have learned from her experiences. I promise to place my purity above any physical desires or pressure I might face to have a sexual relationship before marriage. I believe in God’s plan for a husband and wife, and I commit to uphold that standard in my own life.

Please pray the following prayer:

Father God, I am weak, and sometimes I take a wrong turn. I realize that my purity must be guarded above all else. Please let the lessons I learned as I read about Lilly imprint onto my heart, that I might remember to uphold these standards I’ve committed to. Help me to be strong in the face of pressure and able to withstand even my own physical desires. Help me to place honor and godliness above a boyfriend, the desire for love and acceptance, and anything else the world might dangle before me. I know that You love me and accept me for who I am. Thank You for Your true love. Amen
.

Congratulations on your decision!
Please sign this contract signifying your commitment. Have someone you trust, like a parent or a pastor, witness your choice.
