I cupped his face in my hands and sighed into his mouth, pleased when he kissed me back, and then I took a chance. With his cock still buried deep inside me, I reached behind him and untied his hands.
Brad placed his hands on my waist. He kissed one nipple, then the other, before resting his head against my pounding chest. We held each other for several heartbeats before I reluctantly got off him. Brad kissed me once, then climbed off the bed and went to the bathroom.
I’d tunneled beneath the covers by the time he returned, whistling that same unfamiliar tune.
He stopped at the edge of the bed. “May I lie down beside you?” His voice cracked as he stared down at his feet.
I tossed back the covers and scooted over. “Yes, please.”
The bed dipped as he laid beside me. I nestled my head in the crook of his arm, listening to the steady beating of his heart as he held me close. Damn, this felt nice.
I smiled when the blanket rose like a circus tent.
I sat up on my elbow, tracing a lazy circle across his chest. “Are you ready for more?”
He smiled at me. “Only if you are.”
“I’m always ready, Brad.”
He dug beneath the covers and pulled out the cord I’d bound him with, handing it to me. “Here.”
I took it and tossed it on the floor. “I don’t think we need it this time.” I paused, then summoned the courage to voice my desire before I lost my nerve. “I want you on top, just this once.”
He arched a brow. “You sure?”
“Yes.”
He got up on his knees, his eyes softening as he cupped my cheek. “If you don’t like it, let me know.”
I opened my legs to him. “I will.”
He hovered above me, careful not to crush me with his weight. He kissed me and fingered my dripping sex until I was swollen and aching with need. Then he slipped on a condom and slowly slid inside me.
I wrapped my legs around his waist, lifting them higher as he stretched me with his girth. His lips found mine as he gently rocked into me, building my need with each shallow thrust. I dug my nails into his back, holding him tight as my orgasm built and then crested, sweeping through me with the ferocity of a Texas storm, jolts of pleasure raining down on me as I cried into his mouth. He thrust three times more, then stilled with a groan, our bodies throbbing against one another for several glorious heartbeats.
When our breathing finally slowed, he rolled off me, sweeping me into his arms and tenderly kissing my forehead as he stroked my back.
Hot damn! I’d done it! I’d given Brad control, and it felt so good. He felt so good. Not that I was ready to give up all my control to him. I still wanted to tie him up and make him beg, but at least now we had more options.
As I snuggled against his warm chest, more contented and sated than I’d ever felt in my life, I was overwhelmed with gratitude toward this man for breaking down my barriers and forcing me to learn to trust him.
My eyelids grew heavy as I thought about my new life in this strange town. My world had completely shifted direction in just a few short weeks, thanks to a few lucky breaks and one competent doctor. I’d been knocked down, but I’d jumped back up with both fists swinging. And look where my determination had gotten me. Hollywood had better get ready for Ariana Alvarado. This badass detective was about to grab television drama by the balls. Brad had better be ready, too, because I had a whole lot more kink planned for my sexy stud.
