Prince Charming Goes West,
74-78. Eventually, the Duke and Duchess decided to sell the ranch in Canada, since they went infrequently and had failed to find oil there. Col. Douglas Kennedy, who had managed it since 1956, put it on the market in November 1961. A number of Hereford and Galloway cattle, eight hundred hogs, and a team of Welsh ponies were offered along with the four thousand acres. There was also a large stable of Clydesdale and thoroughbred horses, as well as imported collies and German shepherds. The estimated sale price was $300,000.
