Trickle Down Tyranny (7 page)

These are not minor bureaucratic moves, but dangerous, large-scale takeovers that violate the Constitution and the rule of law.

In chapter 11, “Crushing Obama’s Cadre Before They Crush Us,” I’ll give you a summary of the Obama administration’s inexorable progress toward turning this country into a dictatorship not unlike that Hitler managed to put in place in Nazi Germany. The parallels are so disturbing that they call to mind the words of Milton Mayer, who wrote about how Hitler’s takeover of Germany was accomplished over time, much as Obama’s takeover of the U.S. has been.

Obama’s Tyranny Brings Loss of Freedom

The president is staging nothing less than an assault on our freedoms, including the freedom to worship as we choose. His focus is on undermining Christianity and Judaism as they become increasingly hostile to the freedom of religion guaranteed in the First Amendment. At the Houston National Cemetery, a graveyard for veterans that is run by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, director Arlene Ocasio has banned the use of the words
God
and
Jesus Christ
in funeral services, set a limit of 20 minutes for any military funeral, refused to have taps played at the funerals of homeless veterans, and required that all prayers be submitted in advance for government approval. This Janet Napolitano look-alike is a lifetime low-level administrator who managed to work herself up to a position of authority where she could impose her atheist will on our military veterans’ families.

The American people are increasingly making their feelings about this administration known in public opinion polls. In an October 2011 Gallup poll, the president’s disapproval numbers were 52 percent, equal to those of the Russian despot Vladimir Putin. In other words, Americans are as fearful of the tyrannical nature of the Obama administration as they are of that of the Russian tyrant. The news website
WorldNetDaily
publishes the results of an ongoing “Freedom Index” survey conducted by the polling organization Wenzel Strategies. The poll represents, in the words of company CEO Fritz Wenzel, Americans’ “deeply held public perceptions about their freedoms and the government’s impact on them.” The Freedom Index “dropped off a cliff” as Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress pushed through the government takeover of the health insurance industry. Americans particularly fear the loss of privacy as the government gains control of their medical records and intimate personal details that they reveal only in whispers to their doctors in a quiet exam room with the door firmly closed.

I’m not surprised at all.

I’ve been telling you since before the earliest days of this administration that we’re giving away our freedoms and our rights to this Usurper-in-Chief and that until we take back control from the thieves Obama has appointed to steal them from us, we’re facing an existential challenge to this nation unlike anything we’ve experienced since 1776 or under FDR, who, like Obama, favored big government and strong-arm tactics against ordinary citizens.

Americans are right to worry.

They’re beginning to understand that Obama is a tyrant, out to take everything from them and put it in the hands of the federal government.

Other polls show that Americans are increasingly anxious about losing their economic rights in the Obama years. Seventy-five percent of Americans surveyed favor an amendment to the Constitution forcing the Congress to balance the federal budget every year, according to a May 2011 Wenzel Strategies poll. Americans fear that Washington is spending them into the poorhouse, bankrupting the country and loading down future generations with backbreaking debt for generations to come. Even Democrats agree, with 59 percent responding in the May 2011 telephone survey that the federal government’s value for money is “only fair” or “poor.”

Why are Americans worried about coming under the rule of a tyrant?

Maybe it’s because under Obama we’re seeing things like these: A single 68-year-old man in a nursing home will now be forced to buy a costly insurance plan that covers pregnancy and skateboarding injuries.

Or maybe it’s because the president has further destroyed American culture by spending hundreds of millions of dollars to promote “bilingual education” programs that discourage immigrants from learning English and learning about our country’s unique history and culture.

Or it could be that the world’s largest economy now has the world’s largest debt, and that debt is larger than the total debt of the nine next largest economies in the world combined?

No wonder we’re hearing demands like this one from William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, an organization representing more than 40,000 Americans who want to see tougher enforcement at the border: “By arming drug and human smugglers with assault weapons that have been used to kill American and Mexican citizens and police forces, and by ordering amnesty for illegal aliens, which has been rejected by both Congress and the American public more than eight times, Obama has committed a form of treason against the United States and must be removed from office by Congress.”

Gheen is not alone in calling for impeachment.
WorldNetDaily
founder Joseph Farrah recently wrote: “Never before in the history of the United States has an occupant of the White House displayed less concern for the Constitution and the rule of law than Barack Obama. It’s about time somebody said it: It’s time to impeach Obama.”

Larry Klayman, former Justice Department prosecutor and founder of Judicial Watch, puts it succinctly: “[F]rom what has already occurred, the offenses of the mullah-in-chief are already so compelling as to warrant immediate impeachment and conviction for his high crimes and misdemeanors.”

The Final Chapter: A Tyrant’s Consolidation of Power

What we’re being subjected to is “consolidation,” a tactic employed by leftists and other fascistic political groups once they gain a foothold in order to bring more and more of the decision-making power normally granted to the states and private enterprise—where those powers should lawfully reside—under the control of the federal government through unchecked regulation and behind-closed-doors policy decisions. In doing this, Obama—classic narcissist that he is—is remaking this country in his own image, turning it into something that reflects the belief system he was brainwashed into accepting by the leftist mentors of his youth.

By usurping the legislative and judiciary functions of our federal government, and by siding with cohort groups like leftist labor unions in wage and benefits disputes, Obama has done what no other president since FDR had even thought of doing: He’s installed himself as Chief Executive, Summary Legislator, and Judge and Jury in every critical decision originally granted to the states and individuals through our representatives by the Constitution.

We’ve got a radically unqualified man in the highest office in the land. But Barack Obama is much more than simply out of his depth: There is no doubt in my mind that he’s consciously involved in one of the most dangerous attempts our nation has faced to rapidly steal our freedoms and replace them with a tyrannical government that controls every element of our lives.

This is why I call it
Trickle Down Tyranny
. The president is effectively dismissing our constitutional rights and sending us up the road to becoming a third-world dictatorship as he hands down judgments and issues policies diametrically opposed to the beliefs of an overwhelming majority of American citizens and enshrined in the United States Constitution!

It’s my purpose to explore and expose this existential threat to our democracy—to democracies around the world—and to develop the arguments and strategies we need to put into practice in order to take back our country.

I wrote this book because America needs another Paul Revere, a truth teller to wake and warn Americans that their freedom is slipping away. We need a leader who will draft another Declaration of Independence, this one against the tyrant in the White House.

The American people will know such a leader when they see him . . . or her. They’ll rally behind that leader as Americans rallied behind George Washington more than two centuries ago in order to oust a dictatorial king.

This book is a call to action in the night of a suffering country.

If you want more evidence of Obama’s tyranny, you need to read this book. And then tell your friends and neighbors. By each one of us becoming individual Paul Reveres riding through our towns and villages armed with the truth that shall set us free, we will save this country.

Chapter 3
Tyranny of the Government-Media Complex

I am no friend of Rupert Murdoch.

And the dislike is mutual. The media baron, who owns the Fox News Channel,
The Wall Street Journal
, and many other newspapers and television outlets in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Asia, doesn’t like me. Fox News doesn’t cover my speeches or follow up on the scoops on my radio show. I’m never invited to appear on its cable news network. I could drop dead and Murdoch wouldn’t care. And I don’t owe Fox or Murdoch anything, either.

Like I said, I’m not a friend of Murdoch. And it is not my job to write a legal defense of that strange media mogul. I just call them as I see them, without fear or favor.

Yet, in the interest of “fair and balanced” assessment of the news, I think it’s time to put certain aspects of the media war into a fresh perspective—one that you haven’t heard anywhere before because no one else dares to tell you the truth like I do—and show you how the media elite and the federal government are conspiring to take away your rights. I am talking about the tyranny of the “Government-Media Complex.”

In his last days in office, President Eisenhower warned the nation about the gathering strength of the “military-industrial complex.” As a career U.S. Army officer and former Supreme Allied Commander in Europe during World War II, his warning was sincere and powerful.

In March 1998, at the famous Commonwealth Club of San Francisco, I warned the public about the growing power of the Government-Media Complex. As a radio host with an audience of more than 10 million listeners and author of many bestselling books, I know the media inside and out. Like Eisenhower, I know what I am talking about. And I have the guts to say it. In my speech, I demonstrated that the elite media—the television networks, the major newspapers, the big magazines, the radio stations and the wire services—were aligned with the governing class of the country.

The press is supposed to “comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable,” but now they are cozy cronies of the government.

They are supposed to be watchdogs, but now they are lapdogs.

They are supposed to be Rottweilers, but now they are Shih-Tzus.

And they carry out their servile duties in two ways: highlighting the stories that the government crowd wants pushed and ignoring the stories that hold the government accountable.

Here’s what I told the Commonwealth Club on March 12, 1998. As you can see, all of it is still accurate today:

It is censorship by default as well. What do I mean by censorship by default? Where the commercial interests of the media moguls are so intertwined with government policy as to create an overly friendly image of government officials and their policies. It may not be as clear as a close conspiracy to bias the news, but it results in the same form of censorship of dissent.
Now this bias is not limited to the left. It is largely a product of left-wing bias when it comes to certain social issues such as Affirmative Action and “gay” rights. But the right also biases the news when it wants to shape fiscal issues to its benefit. Example, Rupert Murdoch and the China scandal a while back.
I first began my file on the Government-Media Complex several years ago. I noticed an alarming bias, and I knew this could sink the ship of truth. Surely other administrations have had their friends in high media places. Still, there were many voices and many views of dissent that found their way into the national media. But now we have a growing media blackout of some serious crimes and misdemeanors, all unsolved to the satisfaction of those with critical faculties of reason. . . .
Each and every issue as reflected in the old-line news media—that is, the TV network news and the establishment newspapers and magazines—is a parallel reflection of official Clinton policy.
Listen to this carefully if you will. Tell me if you agree. Hoover Institution historian Robert Conquest said that in the former Soviet Union the press was totally under the control of the state. All editors were members of the Communist Party. Here in the United States of America a frighteningly imbalanced Washington press corps exists. Eighty-nine percent of these apparatchiks of the DNC voted for Bill Clinton in 1992!
Let me repeat, “The media is needed by the public to be and remain a thorn in the side of the government in order to keep the government relatively honest. But when the media instead becomes a thorn in the side of the skeptical private citizen, the media then becomes an arm of the government.”
Is this not worrisome? “Beware the Government-Media Complex.”

And today, the Government-Media Complex is more dangerous and more powerful than ever. In a moment, I will show you irrefutable evidence that the so-called mainstream media wouldn’t dare report.

But first let’s take a tour of the Government-Media Complex.

The New
Pravda

When I was kid in the 1950s, journalists and government officials didn’t go to school together, marry each other, or go into business together. Journalism was a working-class trade and there were few Ivy League graduates in the newsroom. For that matter, most journalists didn’t even go to college, much less major in journalism. Journalists started out on a beat. They covered city hall or the police department and worked their way up from there, with hard-nosed editors questioning everything that they wrote.
