ASHLEY MASON, the author of UPON WAKING, was born and raised in Iowa and has always dreamed of becoming an author. For the time being, she works full time as professional dog groomer and a single mother, raising her daughter in a small town in Southwest Iowa.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on, drawing and writing. She is currently working on the second installment of the Youngling Series.
