THE SECOND MEETING

A few days later...

Marianne was in the kitchen putting the grocery store in the closet, after she returned home bringing some food missing. At that time, Amelia came to the site to drink water.

"I met my godmother in the city, had many years since I saw her. She invited me to lunch at her home on Sunday"

"And you'll go?" - filled a glass with water and drank seemed thirst..

"Both will go" - She said and closed the cabinet against the wall.

"I do not want to go"

But Marianne tried to convince her. - "You will like my godmother is like Mrs. Clotilde, elderly, poor She loves to have visitors at home...

***

On Sunday, Marianne persuaded Amelia to go to lunch at the home of her godmother. They arrived an hour before lunch, actually to serve the table. Amelia was presented to Mrs. Mirian, and she had a feeling it could be her grandmother.

Later after lunch, the three tasted the sweets made by Mirian.

"I live alone in this big house; sometimes my grandson comes to visit me"

"Now that we are back with my godmother, I will always be here to see you" - Marianne said.

"I hope so, I hope your visit in this house always beloved goddaughter"

After a few minutes, the three went to the room where they enjoyed a delicious tea and toast. But Amelia would not drink tea not used to do in their daily life.

"Excuse me, but I go to the garden to take the air"

"Feel free," said the old frankly.

Amelia smiled and left the house. She stood enjoying the beautiful garden. The butterflies flew over some flowers.

Looking ahead, she saw a black horse approached. She stared at him, then the animal stopped near her and a young man gets down.

Amelia frowned as he looked at the child's face and realized it was the same person who had offered her a ride few days ago.

"You're the guy who gave me a ride the other day?" - She squeezed her eyes at him.

He smiled politely and asked.

"Surprised to see me here?"

"I did not expect ..." - She shook her head, looking confused.

The boy stroked the face of his horse and introduces himself with education.

"My name is Juan Carlos"

She answered, but a little shy.

"Amelia"

"And then Amelia, will you ride a little - asked looking at his horse.

"I cannot" - And she looked at the animal. Amelia realized that the blond boy had great affinity with the four-legged animal.

"You cannot, or will not?" - He looked into her eyes.

Amelia blushed and looked down. Trying to explain.

"I just cannot"

But he insisted otherwise.

"We're going for a walk"

She looked him in the face. - "If you promise us will not delay..."

"I promise"

After a while, both were walking in the garden. Juan Carlos had tied his horse to the trunk of a nearby tree house.

He had a pale shirt, old jeans and riding boots.

"You do not speak very much! I see you're a shy girl."

"I just talk too much when I want to. To tell the truth, I speak more alone than with someone. I have no friends, so just I communicate with the wind, trees, and animals and when I do my prayers to God."

The boy smiled. - "You are starting to let go"

Amelia looked at him seriously. There was a look of question in her dark eyes. - "Sometimes I think they follow me"

However, Juan Carlos, looked into her eyes and said firmly. - "Are our paths destinations"

Confused, Amelia shifted her gaze from him. The words and the look of the boy seemed even more confused. Then she said in a soft voice.

"I have to go back home"

She pointed to the house and they both looked at the house at the same time. The house was white with colonial roof.

A few moments later. They approached to the house and Juan Carlos was soon coming to Amelia. He did not understand the sudden invasion of the child. Soon her face crumpled in his direction. He is walking in front, as if he knew the place and everything.

"Good afternoon, Grandma!"

"Good afternoon, dear!" - The old woman looked at her goddaughter and soon reported. - "This is my grandson, Juan Carlos"

She held out her hand and smiled at the blond boy. - "Nice to meet you, I'm Marianne"

"She's my goddaughter. And this girl is ..."

Juan Carlos intervened.

"We already knew"

I said looking at the face of the girl who was standing next to the sofa. He smiled quietly to Amelia, however, she remained serious.

At home, Marianne said something to Amelia as she walked behind her, both passed through the front door of the house.

"Juan Carlos is a good game. It's beautiful, it's from a good family, educated, and have money my daughter, you'd be a queen marrying him"

"I love him only as a friend"

"For this reason, people today are marrying more for friendship than love. Do you think so?"

Amelia winced at the ironic tone of his stepmother. Marianne said only absurd for the girl.

"I'm serious. He as a friend will be great. I have to talk to, but he always talk.

"You're such a clown like that friendly chat Amelia"

Marianne muttered and threw her purse on the couch. She sat on it and began to take off sandals.

Chapter 10

THE PORCELAIN DOLL

Overnight, Marianne decided to go to the club to dance and while Amelia was in her room, reading a book aloud. Then it started raining and Amelia looked at the window, she rose from her bed and was out of the house, she tried to pick up the clothes lay.

During this period, the rain was strong and she ended up all wet. Then she took all her clothes off, she went to her room and changed clothes, put on another clean dress more comfortable.

Meanwhile, Marianne was kissing and hugging a man inside the club.

The next morning, Amelia was burning with fever, lying on her bed. Marianne was surprised that she had not risen yet and went to her room and sat on one side of the bed.

"Do you have anything else besides a fever?"

"I feel very cold"

Amelia replied, hugging herself. She was sweating and shivering at the same time. She had fallen and has dull eyes.

"You shouldn't have gone with the rain to pick up clothes. You should have let wet clothes, what evil can do a wetting the clothes?"

"The clothes left with a strange smell"

She struggled to respond, looking toward her stepmother.

"What is it that those clothes fucking stick with the strange smell?" - Her voice thickened. - "What matters is your health, not the crappy clothes!"

***

Marianne came to Amelia's room with a white pill and a glass of water. After she had gone to a pharmacy in town and had brought a bag of drugs.

"Drink this. Your fever will soon pass"

She raised her glass and pressed toward Amelia. She sat on the bed and took the pill and glass of water and swallowed both silent.

"Now, let me fix you a little accommodating your hair, have a lipstick, you're with pale lips!"

Marianne said. After she took the glass and put on a small table beside the bed.

It took a moment for her to brush Amelia's hair and let loose and thrown back shoulder. Amelia would not put lipstick being indoors and less at this time of day.

"Now you wait here, I'll call a visit" - She smiled at Amelia. - "I found it in the center of the city and made sure to come to see you"

Amelia frowned. - "Who is here?

"It's a surprise"

Marianne said and left the room. Amelia drew back the table to her bed and stared at the closed door. In a few moments he went through the door of her room a blond boy with a package in hand.

Amelia looked at his clothes and realized he was dressed in a dark gray shirt, jeans and sneakers.

"I'm surprised you again, right?"

He said he approached the bed.

"Why are you here?"

She looked him in the face. He seemed quite surprised by the unexpected visit of the boy.

"Do you still ask?" - He raised an eyebrow.

"Did I the wrong question?"

Her voice was soft as she tried to explain it in a healthy way. - "It is not appropriate and referring to the visits, Amelia"

He handed the package with wrapping paper and pink said.

"I hope you like it"

For a moment, Amelia looked at the package on the child's hands and then took him with fear. Wanted gift and at the same time no. He thought reject this, but figured it would be a discourtesy on her part.

Once he opened the package. His eyes flashed to a beautiful porcelain doll.

"I loved it! How do you know that I like dolls?"

"Huhuhm ... your appearance made it clear that"

"Sit!"

He sat on the bed beside her. Juan Carlos looked Amelia silently and realized that she was happier with this. It was a complete girl, but sometimes seemed a child. It seemed so innocent and full of childish fantasies.

"All my dolls has a name I will choose a name for it." - Said at the boy who sat on the bed.

Soon, he said. - "Amelia, do you like it?"

"It could be I have no doll named Amelia" - She accepted and took the doll to her chest, hugged her porcelain like might have life and might have it in the same way.

Juan Carlos continued watching.

"Can I know if the fever comes down?"

"Do you understand that?"

"A little"

He tried to be sensitive and put his hand on her forehead. He felt her temperature for a while.

"It's a little hot"

He muttered and removed his hand from the front of the girl .

"Do you like fishing?"

"I like"

"When you're better, I'll make an appointment for us to go fishing"

Smiling, he took her hand and held his breath. Amelia also squeezed half of his hand and tried to smile back. She always felt happiest in the company of her new friend. Juan Carlos used to be so nice to her. Amelia felt that she was a special and important to someone else. Before she only felt that way when her father was alive.
