Chapter 18

A GOLD MEDAL

At night, Amelia was sleeping peacefully in her single bed. She was dreaming about the man who killed her father. The same was hooded and his eyes were blue. So intensely blue that surprised her in the dream.

Since then she opens her eyes, but the hooded face and blue eyes never leaving her confused mind. She looked around and saw the menacing image. Trying to calm down, she immediately sat on the bed and closed her eyes briefly, but did not help much; because fear was still inside her. Seeing no other alternative that could end their fear, Amelia started screaming high.

"Marianne! Marianne!"

Within seconds, her stepmother entered the room through the door that had opened in a hurry.

"What had happen Amelia?"

She questioned run to the bed of the girl, pulled the ends of her long satin nightgown and sat beside Amelia.

"It’s another nightmare!"

She responded with frightened eyes.

"And scared me!"

"I do not want to be alone, I have fear"

She pleaded desperately taking the arm of her stepmother. Marianne gave a confused look.

"Afraid of what?"

"The fear of the man who killed my father"

She said closing her eyes, Amelia seemed to be afraid of everything, even the air in her room. Sometimes she had the impression that the murderer of her father was inside her house, hiding under the bed or behind the curtain.

Marianne mercifully embraced and looked thoughtful. Amelia feared was worsening with scenes of murder of her father. This was really a terrible time for the young woman who had not used to her absence trauma.

The next day was fabulous, like a gift for the poor Amelia had had their night ruined by a nightmare.

At the time she was in the company of Juan Carlos, while both sat on the edge of a lake with green water. There were some ducks floating in it. For a moment Amelia's dark eyes were arrested by this extreme image. She thought maybe a duck's life was less complicated than hers. Much less complicated.

"Tonight I could not sleep. The image of the man who killed my father, was tormenting me. It seemed that I was seeing in front of me. His eyes were horrible"

She said moving her eyes from the lake and looking to the side, to her boyfriend. Juan Carlos wearing a dark gray shirt, jeans and sneakers. The boy's arms rested on the top of the knees.

"The police do not suspect anyone?"

He asked, raising his eyebrow. Amelia looked at him before hearing the answer toward the lake. His eyes were as blue and bright.

"Even they not knew where to start" - said, then she breathes tired of so many excuses from the delegate who was in charge of the murder case.

"They do not even have an idea of who might have killed your father?" - He insisted looking back at her.

Amelia looked into the eyes of Juan Carlos and said quietly without force.

"The only person I know who has blue eyes... is you"

The boy's eyes dropped and he looked down, smiled poorly and tried to improvise a little humor in this situation.

"Why do not you send me to apprehend?" - He raised his fists toward her. Amelia looked at them and said nothing. - "I have blue eyes, I can be the murderer of your father"

Completely stunned, Amelia pushed away from his wrists. He looked up and bit her lip nervously.

"Do not play with that! I'm afraid, Juan Carlos!"

But he put his hand on the chin of his beloved.

"I'm here to protect you"

His voice transcended with care, love and affection. He hugged her tightly. Amelia felt the heat transmitted to it. During this period, the two were embraced for a long time. Now Amelia seemed safer and less fear. Her boyfriend had that ability to comfort in difficult times. He had a way of doing everything.

Remembering something, Juan Carlos could not hug his beloved and pulled his pants pocket a medal shining through the motions of her fingers. The medal was engraved with the initials JC & A.

"You know what I mean by this?" - He asked and smiled afterwards. - "Juan Carlos and Amelia"

"It's beautiful!"

He said looking at the medal in the palm of John.

"I'll put on your neck"

He said and put the medal around the neck of Amelia. At that moment holding her hair on top and John stared into her eyes. Wishing to inform her that she was very special for him. To the point of giving a gold medal.

After he placed the medal on the chest of Amelia, he grabbed her and gave her a kiss on the serene golden object.

"This medal record the existence of our love"

He said and approached her face, tried to kiss her on the lips, but Amelia lowered her head and stared at the ground.

"What?" - He frowned, as he turned away in the same way.

"Today I do not feel the desire to be kissed on my lips"

She said with difficulty. She thought it might offend her boyfriend with this strange request.

"It should not be so"

She smiled sweetly and kissed his cheek.

"I understand"

He said parting her lips to her cheek. Juan Carlos knew how to deal with the complex of Amelia. He knew she was going through a difficult time. He had lost his father in a cruel murder and whose murderer had blue eyes.

"Juan Carlos is not coming today?"

Marianne asked, seeing that Amelia was sitting on the bed in her room. She was disheveled and hugged the porcelain doll that her boyfriend had given her as a gift.

"I asked him not to come today"

"But why?"

Strangely Amelia bit her lip and looked around. She looked frightened by something invisible. Something she could not see and touch.

"I'm beginning to be afraid of him"

"Afraid of him?" - Marianne's head turned. - "Did he do something?"

"No" - Amelia shrugged. - "It is that his eyes are blue"

Her stepmother sneered. Amelia looked surprised and hid her eyes. This was no cause for laughter and ridicule, but Marianne did not respect that.

"In this way, you'll end up going crazy! Paranoid! Where has seen that! Be afraid of your own boyfriend because he has blue eyes! All because you compare with the eyes of the murderer of your father"

At the end of the sentence she shook her head.

Amelia, afflicted pressed her wrist against her chest and confessed.

"I know it was not him, but rather he had the eyes of another color. And not blue"

"Why you do not talk to him about it? And you ask him to wear sunglasses. Usually the problem is solved"

"I'm afraid to hurt him"

At that time, Juan Carlos was lying in bed, thinking about Amelia. He recalled some moments with the child and especially the first kiss between them. From that moment, he had confirmation that she was the girl who was waiting to come into his life. After Lucia's death, he had no love again. But Amelia could relive that feeling again in his heart.

"I love too much this girl!"

He murmured, covering her face with both hands.

Chapter 19

JEALOUSY

Two days later, Amelia followed her stepmother to the city center. Both were shopping in a small market in the region. Leaving the trade with the filled bags, the two began to walk one next to the other around the pedestrian. Marianne was distracted looking at some showcases. She loved seeing the beautiful dresses.

However, her stepdaughter had eyes of these showcases women's clothing. She looked up and saw Juan Carlos talking to a girl, who was distant. Soon the boy with blond hair, looked back and saw Amelia. Immediately she turned her back to him and ordered impatiently.

"Come on, Marianne!"

"I have not finished my shopping"

Hurriedly, Amelia went away, leaving her stepmother back with slow steps.

Juan Carlos arrived innocently walking beside the girl with dark hair.

"Amelia!"

He cried and stopped at the back of the young Amelia, but she stayed away from him. The young man looked at her white dress.

"Amelia, this is Claudia, a classmate!"

"A pleasure!"

Amelia turned to the girl and said nothing.

"And she's Marianne"

"Nice to meet you!"

"Likewise!"

Juan Carlos looked Amelia's face and realized she was looking at him as if he were guilty of something very serious.

8:00 pm

"You said I had no friends, and what is she for you? She is your other girlfriend?”

Juan Carlos sighed through the sarcastic voice of his girlfriend. He expected to be treated with more cooing after arriving there.

"Jealousy does not compensate" - He muttered and rubbed his forehead with his thumb.

"Are not jealous!"

She replied even fiercer. Juan Carlos imagined that Amelia would attack him at that time.

"What name you give it, then?"

"You better go. Or we will finish discussing"

"I just arrived” - he said, crossing his arms over his chest and sat on the couch Young seemed indifferent to this unjust and totally stupid argument.

"Then stay if you want"

Amelia ordered shrugged walked to the front porch. She looked at the starry sky and tried to distract herself, but her thought was stubborn and insisted on memorizing the image of Juan Carlos.

He slowly walked over and hugged her from behind. His forearms were glued to the belly of his beloved. He did not want to release any more.

"I have come for us to go to dinner with my parents"

He said, after he deposited a respectful kiss on the left shoulder of his beloved. The soft touch of his lips made Amelia's body shudder unconditionally.
