The Husband Beside Me (The Devil Trilogy Book 2) (31 page)

“Was. She was,” he corrected. I turned away irritated by him. “Addie, Linda was fun and convenient.”

I jolted out of bed shocked at him. “Is that your way of apologizing? Because it doesn’t sound like that to me.”

“She was there. It was easy. I work so fucking much. Come on, Addie, don’t be unreasonable,” he grumbled.

“Don’t be unreasonable? I asked you to fire her because she still wants you. That’s not being unreasonable; that’s being realistic. Being upset my husband slept with one of his executives, that by the way, he still works closely with, is not being unreasonable. It’s being very, very rational,” I shouted.

“So now you know how I feel about Darren,” Daimon said flatly.

“You did not just compare my friendship with Darren, a man who never saw me naked nor had sex with, to your relationship with a woman who possibly blew you while you were on a conference call to God knows who? You did not just do that! Did you?” I yelled.

“I can’t fire her,” he said ruefully.

“Why?” I shouted.

“Addie, just try to understand. She’s important to my company and if I fire her now, I’ll get sued for wrongful dismissal. I know I fucked up, but this was before you entered my life. She was there and all we had was sex. If she wanted more, that was her problem. I never did relationships. I only causally dated to get my rocks off. I used them all for my entertainment,” he said earnestly.

“Is that what I am too? Entertainment?” I retorted.

“All I ever fucking wanted was you, was to be yours, to shower you with everything that I am. You are the only one I have and will ever give my heart too.” Daimon reached out and took my hand. “And you are the only one I will grovel to,” he faintly smiled.

“You call this groveling?” I wasn’t happy but I understood what he said. Linda was going to be a part of his professional life and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.

“I call this the only love I ever gave anyone. That is you. So yes, it’s my groveling,” he said as his faint smile pleaded with me to understand. I hated the idea of her being around him. “For now, Addie, just trust me. It’s only for now,” he begged with his low, gruff voice.

“Play for me,” I said quietly.

“Play? Play what?”

“Play how you feel about me,” I replied, knowing I was the only one who saw him play. This was my way of making myself feel important in his life.

Daimon sighed as he rose from the bed and headed to the table by the couch near the far end of the bedroom. Daimon no longer played by the window downstairs but in our room with me next to him. Most nights, I would be lulled to sleep by the soft and melancholy notes he’d play.

I hugged my knees to my chest as he started. His notes were higher than usual as he drew the bow across the strings, making the notes last longer. The sounds he created were different than before. It sounded much like a dawn of a new day, bright and unknowing, exciting and exhilarating. I sat listening to him, small tears prickling me eyes as he played his song, a song I’d never heard him play before.

I rose from where I was and leisurely walked in front of him. His muscles tight and taut as he continued to play with his eyes closed, taken in by his music. This was a Daimon that no one but me ever saw. It was an image that would forever stay with me.

I knelt down before him, still listening to his song. I reached for the elastic of his lounge pants and pulled them down, enough so I could see his beautiful cock in front of me. Daimon did not once flinch as he continued to play. I reached for the base of his penis and stroked him softly. I licked my lips eager to taste him. Daimon’s music changed and became much more captivating as his haunting notes lingered in the air.

I closed my eyes and took in the moment. I let the music he created coax me to move. I sucked and licked according to each note he played. He was telling me how he wanted it. It was alluring and erotic. Daimon played harder and faster as I took him in deep inside my mouth, moving to his music. I could feel the heaviness of his cock on my tongue. Daimon then came. He pulsated in my mouth leisurely moving back and forth as the music slowed down. I pulled back, still on my knees as I looked up to see Daimon looking down at me. He smiled devilishly like always.

“My Addie,” he murmured. He placed his violin down onto the table and knelt down before me. “I see my girl loves my song.” He caressed my face, pushing my hair to the side.

“Yes, I loved your song,” I smiled.

“My turn,” he growled as he flung me over his shoulders carrying me to the bed.

“Daimon,” I giggled.

“Yes?” He threw me not so gently down. “What does the woman who rules this heart of mine want?” he said enticingly. But I stayed mute, lost in his wondrous features. “Oh, this is a first. My sexy little Addie without a thing to say. That’s okay. All I want to hear is you moaning and calling out my name, begging me to stop when you want me to go further.” He crawled across my body unhurried as he watched me closely.

“I’m not going to beg,” I tried to say defiantly, knowing I was in a losing battle.

“You will. You fucking will,” he murmured alluringly.

My Surprise for Daimon

“Don’t pout,” Daimon said to me as we sat at the breakfast table. “It’s not your fault I’m a great lover. So I made you beg? So what?” he shrugged, laughing at me.

“Screw off,” I grumbled, picking up my orange juice.

“Oh, Addie is in a bad mood,” he teased.

“If Daimon doesn’t stop, Addie is going to make him pay,” I threatened.

“How?” he mocked.

“Okay. No more Addie specials.” I turned my back to him.

“Addie specials?” he questioned.

“No BJs babe, not one. You keep it up and I’ll be the one making you beg for my hot sweet mouth around your cock, licking it from the base to the tip, and then taking it deep inside my mouth, so you could feel the back of my throat,” I said calmly and seductively. I watched as his nostrils flared and his eyes grew deep with the images I described.

He brought his hand to his mouth, massaging his jaw as he let out a heavy sigh. “You are really a bad little girl, giving me a fucking hard-on just before I go to work,” he gritted out.

“And you are a bad little boy, who likes to tease too much. Perhaps you shouldn’t tease so much and you wouldn’t have such a hard-on.” I smiled a sexy little smile.

“Bad girls get punished,” he offered, his eyes narrowing as he looked at me.

“Bad girls like getting punished,” I said, still smiling. Daimon looked away, finally losing to me.

“I have to go to work,” he grumbled as he stood up.

I reached quickly and grazed the front of his suit pants. “Have a good day at work, Daimon,” I giggled as I drank my juice, hearing him grumbling something as he left and stood by the elevators. I knew exactly what I would do tonight to Daimon.

“Come, Drako, I have a big day planned and I need to get busy,” I laughed as he wagged his tail.

After my run with Drako, I immediately took him home and went out shopping. I needed to not only buy ingredients for dinner, but I wanted to buy something sexy for Daimon. Daimon always purchased my clothes or lingerie. It wasn’t because he loved how they looked on me, which the man knew exactly what I liked. It was because he knew how uncomfortable I was undressing in front of others. Daimon never once said it, but I knew it was the reason.

“Hello?” A beautiful full-bodied redhead appeared the moment I stepped into the chic, sexy lingerie shop. I looked the shop up online. I knew Daimon’s taste and I didn’t have much time to waste. If I knew him, that man would be coming home early to make sure I rid him of his hard-on.

“How can I help you?” She was vivacious and beautiful with her wavy red hair and the way in which she carried herself. I had to admit, I was a bit jealous.

“I’m here to look at a corset, maybe even a waspie,” I said nervously.

“Oh, you’re here for a lover, one who knows his stuff.” She wagged her eyebrows at me.

“Yes, Daimon knows his stuff,” I admitted.

“Do you usually buy your lingerie? ‘Cause, sweetheart, you look new to all this,” she said, whirling her finger around.

“My husband usually buys them for me,” I admitted.

“Oohh, lucky girl,” she winked.

“Yeah, trust me, you don’t know him, because if you did, you wouldn’t be saying that,” I joked.

“Come with me. I have something that I think might be just right.” I followed her to the end of the store. “With your olive skin color, this soft pink would be perfect. It’s a Basque, basically a corset, which hugs just right. It’s soft and sophisticated with its silk demi-padded cups, French lace overlay and bone sewn in to give you that perfect hourglass shape. It comes with the lacy panties too.” She laid it on the dark wooden table in the middle of her store.

“Okay, how about a slip?” I asked.

“I like the way you think. Start off with the alluring silk slip then put on the Basque for later. A little appetizer before the main course.” She smiled wickedly.

“You could say that,” I said shyly.

“All right, it just so happens that I have a 1930’s style silk slip with lace and a subtle little slit that stops right before the butt. Come, we’ll need to try them on.” She pulled my hand, taking me to the dressing room.

“Um…I can undress myself,” I said hesitantly.

“Listen, sweetheart, I’ve seen everything. There is nothing you have there that I haven’t dealt with,” she said flatly. For Daimon, I reminded myself as I slowly took off my shirt.

“I see why.” She smiled looking at me and not my scar. “Sweetheart, don't mind me saying this, but the look in your eyes, the reason why you’re here. The man loves you and I doubt that mark will change that,” she said candidly. “Come on now, I need to see that I chose right,” she teased.

“I’m sorry, Drako. Don’t be mad,” I said to him as I locked him up in the other bedroom. “But I don’t think it’s sexy having you jumping up and down, especially with what I’m about to do.”

This morning the idea seemed so fun and exciting, but as the time ticked by, I was nervous as hell and regretting it. I walked downstairs with the tiny little slip I bought. The sales clerk was right. The gorgeous Basque and a short kimono that matched, fit like it was made just for me. I felt sexy and alive as I walked in it, despite my nerves.  I’d added the kimono on top since I was a little too nervous to walk around with just the slip alone.

I had made wild mushroom risotto and red wine braised meat. I did have a full glass of merlot just to relax myself. I put on the album AIR and played their song “La Femme D’Argent.”

“Addie?” Daimon called out my name as he stood by the foyer looking at me. Daimon in a three-piece suit was a sight for sore eyes. He stood tall in his dark blue suit with a baby blue shirt and light brown shoes. I bit the inside of my lower lip, urging myself not to run to him.
No!
I was going to do what I set my mind to. I watched as he kicked off his shoes while still smiling at me. “What’s this?” he asked, his voice as sexy as ever.

“Oh, this?” I said softly, moving my fingers up and down my kimono. “This is nothing.” I gave him my best come-hither and fuck-me look.

“It doesn’t look like nothing,” he said, his voice low as he slowly eyed me from the bottom of my pink boudoir mules, right to the top. My makeup was done perfectly as was my hair, per my sales clerk’s advice.

“Aren’t you hungry?” I asked as I moved in a leisurely manner to the already set table, picking up my second glass of wine. Daimon cleared his throat and unbuttoned his suit jacket. “A little,” he smiled, amused by my efforts.

“I made wild mushroom risotto and braised meat,” I said as I moved away from his grasp. Daimon let out a sigh and sat down, making sure to never to let me out of his sight. I felt sexy and tempting. It only fueled me more as I started my little teasing dance. “I think it’s getting a little hot in here, don’t you?” I fanned myself.

“A little,” Daimon said gruffly as he shifted in his seat a little.

“I still feel hot. What should I do?” I asked as I slowly yanked at the silk sash, opening up the kimono. Daimon’s eyebrow lifted slightly as he sat back into his chair. “I’m still just too hot,” I said as I let the kimono slip off, making it gently fall to the floor. Daimon’s breath hitched. “Tsk, I dropped it,” I acted coy. I turned around and bent down letting the silk slip ride up just enough so he could see my bare ass. Right on cue, Daimon let out a breath.

“I see you’ve been busy today,” he said as I looked at him pulling on his tie.

“The usual I guess. My morning run, shopping and cooking, nothing really out of the ordinary.” I smiled gently at him. “Aren’t you going to eat?” I asked, pointing to his plate.

“I’m not that hungry for food right now,” he said, his eyes narrowed. The stunning blue of his eyes melted with the heat of my body and I knew it. I felt empowered, like a woman in command, in charge of her man. I watched as he withered under my control.

“You should eat. You’re going to need your stamina,” I noted.

“Am I?” he asked, grinning.

“Oh, yes, you are,” I smiled, reassuring him.
