Don’t you know they perished in that auto accident? They were both drunk and it got them killed. You have been in a coma for a week. Those stupid doctors do not know how you survived, but it would take far more than that to finish you off Drake I’m sorry for your loss.”

“
Don’t be they never paid any attention to me in the first place, not since I was young.”

“
That is due to the fact that your power poisons human minds to dislike you and corrupts them the longer they are around you. Speaking of which I’m pulling you out of school for a few weeks so you can recover fully then you are to go back.”

I felt no tears in my eyes only a bit of regret for
their deaths, what a waste.

“
Now get out of that bed I will not raise a wimp. Unless you are missing a leg or something you will not be getting anymore rest you do not need it Drake our kind does not sleep.”

I tried
to move it hurt but far less than it did a few minutes ago when I woke up. I leaned up and pulled down the side guard on my bed and stepped on the ground. Samual tossed me some clothing and I painfully got dressed. When we emerged from the critical care room the nurses rushed me, talking to my well, I guess grandfather, and he just politely said, “we are now checking out,” and that was all there was to it. They wanted to run tests and other shit but we simply walked out. It seemed people were too stunned I was walking around after a only a week. But we walked out of the place and no one stopped us.

I got in the car and we drove away
. When we got to my new home, it was like a palace, if there was one in the U.S.A.. Soon we meet with my parents attorney. It seemed that they had a large amount of life insurance they had left to me as well as the various companies they owned. My parents were far wealthier than I had thought which would be good Saumual told me. He never gave me his last name.

After the
funeral the following day I went back to my new home finding that all of my stuff was now in my large set of rooms almost my own house within a house. I was resting I had not been able to sleep since Samual arrived in my life I worked on some of my neglected projects. I was working with my computers that I acquired with some of my new cash as Samual came into my room through the wall. My eyes nearly popped out of my head. “How in the hell did you do that Samual I need to know, tell me?” I smiled.

“Q
uiet Drake, I will teach you in time but we will start with simpler and more needed things first. Now come and stand here I want to give you a few lessons today we will work with the mind. Do you hear me Drake am I in your head?” I looked at Samual as he spoke without moving his mouth.

“
Ok I get it Samual now let me try I have been feeling things as of late so I may be able to do it.” I focused my mind and made sound in my mind sending it in Samual’s direction. “Can you hear me?” I smiled. I knew he could. I found out what he was thinking at the same time he tried the same but I forced him away from my mind and withdrew from his head. He was strong I was barely able to hold him back.

“
Don’t worry Drake in time your skill and shield will grow, distance means nothing to speaking to someone’s mind simply see them in your mind that is all it takes. You will  grow in strength in time Drake, so do not fear I believe in you more than you know. Now I know you have not slept since Saturday night. We will start you training in other areas of learning that school does not teach. This will take up a good chunk of the daylight hours as well.

I
rubbed my temples in frustration, “what are you going to do with me? I understand I am not human, but what you expect from me Samual I need to know?”

“
To be honest with you Drake you are in charge here not me. I was made by you as were all of our kind you are older than you think and capable of what people here on earth would consider divine powers almost god-like even. But that is all you need to know for right now Drake. I will tell you more at a later point. You will know when that time is you always do.” 

“
Ok I get what you are saying Samual, and I will need time to come to terms with all of this I am still just a kid as you know. But I can see what you are saying has the ring of truth to it. I know when people lie to me. I always have been able to.”

“That
is a good skill to have, one you do not need to read minds to have and trust me Drake some minds are best left alone people can think of some sick things.”

I walked over to the siting area in my bedr
oom and sat down behind a desk Samual followed but remained standing. “Then tell me Samual what was it you meant about my power corrupting others not like me? That worries me I have two friends that I care about a lot, are they at risk?”

“
Those girls are not at risk I can tell you that much why you need to figure that out yourself. Now I want to teach you how to open a portal as humans have taken to calling them but are unable to make. This way you will not need to be driven around there are three types of portals class one, two, and three. Class one, now enter my mind to learn this that is the best way, good Drake, now class one is a personal portal only you can use and once used to go where you want. I went to the other side of the room. Then reopened it to go back to where Drake sat studying my use of this power. Now this can only be used by the person who opens it. The second can be used by anyone who opens it and those who they allow to come through it, but you need to read them with your mind or know them before they can use it. The third allows anyone to use it like a public transit system we use that one to move large amounts of people. The portals cannot be seen but rather felt in your mind when you are near one you will know it. They are hidden to keep others who should not use them out. Now your last lesson for now you need a weapons like a spell, so you can shoot fireballs from your hands.  You see the plate on the wall over there that was expensive now watch and learn. I called my inner power and gave it form shooting it from my hand at the target. Now go the training room you found while you explored your rooms and practice these powers they are a few basics you have two days to learn them Drake.”

I smiled
, “I will do it in a day Samual.”

“I would expect nothing les
s from you. Now I must go attend to other matters. Farewell for now.”

I walked into
a portal to my meeting leaving Drake behind. I wandered through my rooms and couldn’t believe this place was quite big to be honest. I went from my massive bedroom into my formal dining area. In the center of the room stood a long table that seated twenty with tall wood backed chairs. The table was covered in a white perfect table cloth. The celling was covered in three antic crystal chandeliers that lit the room the walls were covered in display cases containing antic dining wear. I exited that room to the left and entered the kitchen it was fancier than one would expect and I knew this home is top notch. I left after making myself a sandwich and went back through the dining area to the hallway that connected all of the rooms. I checked my office it was lavish and behind my office was my lab, and to the right my training area. I opened a type one portal and went through entering back into my office.

What
Samual did not know is that I am a perfect learner where I saw something I can do it perfectly the second time. I went to the training area I shot a few fireballs at some metal targets that absorbed the heat I worked on my aiming so I could hit moving targets. Not a problem, I now felt that inner energy that I had not felt before. Now I can feel far more energy than Samual had I felt new ideas that came to my mind as I felt this energy floating throughout my body. I shot a ball of blue at a dummy. When I looked the figure was covered in a thick layer of ice that did not melt even if I threw fire at it. Just shattering instead, I watched as a piece flew towards me. I just reacted and the shard dropped dead in the air. I felt a bubble around me like a shield it was thin but there I tried to feel it but felt nothing but air but I know knew how to make it. This is amazing I was just creating new things as they came to me, but I knew I should keep them to myself until needed for use. I worked that night with my first sword Samual instructed me in its use. I picked up the basics he explained that not all fight could be one with my power some needed weapons, thus I am trained in their use.

My
body began to pack on some extra muscle but not much I did not want to look like I worked out too much if you catch my drift. I spent most of what I considered to be free time learning to cook with a team of professionals, as well as playing musical instruments I found I liked to things cheese and classical music like the piano. The time came a few weeks later that I was driven to school in a car that Samual had acquired with money I hope. I had learned that if I wanted to I could make something from nothing a trick Samual said that only I could possess. That made me nervous I was not too sure I believed this it led me to more questions than I had answers. I still do not even know what I am every time I tried to ask Samual he managed to dodge the question. The only thing he said was that I need to discover that on my own. Please let me tell you I am not eager to find that out at all. Just a few weeks ago I thought I was human, now I have no clue what I am in the least. But I suspect that I am someone important for all of this teaching and lessons that Samual has been giving.

Our
car pulled up in front of the school and I saw that there was the two girls that I wanted to see the most. For some reason my senses told me to be cautious of both but far more so of Azure how did they know that I would be here.

“
Sandy how are you,” I asked as I got out of the car in my clothing. Azure was somewhat stunned I was not covered in a full body cast. I picked that up from her mind.

“
I am happy to see you are safe Drake. It is good to see you. I am sorry I was not able to come to your parent’s funeral I had stuff to do.

“It is fine when they di
ed I learned the truth that I was adopted by them when I was young so I do not feel the loss so deeply.” That was the truth in a way at least as much of it I wanted to admit at this time. I am in truth not human and my parents were used to raise me and my power drove them crazy how would you tell someone that in real life. So yea I dumbed it down quite a bit I feel bad enough for what my being there did to them and I do not yet even know why I was placed with them.

”
So Drake how have you been? I saw the news they reported that you were seriously injured. I am happy they made a mistake in that report.” I smiled while she continued, “not sure how they could have been so wrong about Drake I saw him on the news there was so much blood.”

“
Well it is good to see you both. We should get to classes the bell will ring soon, so come on.” I offered my hand to Azure, and she smiled and took it looking content to be near me at all. We walked in to the school and things went as usual but for some reason people kept staring at me I did not know why so like a cellphone I placed a mind call to Samual.

“
Samual can you see what I am seeing why are all of the kids staring at me like this, I have never seen these looks from them?”

“
Drake you have a nice girl on your arms and you look quite a bit different than you did a few weeks ago. Most of all, your power has awakened and that will draw attention to you by everyone. How you choose to take advantage of that is up to you goodbye for now Drake.”

“
Samual you there?” he had closed the mind link so I knew he was gone for sure he liked to hide in my mind. I had lessons to see what I thought, but I only let him see what I wanted him to see. I walked on willing them to stop staring and to my surprise they did like I am not even by them.

“
Why is everyone staring at you Drake? Have you been working out a bit,” Azure asked.

“
Yea but I think they are looking at the lovely girl next to me,” I smiled “I have to go to the office to get my homework so I will see you both later.”

I separated from the girls and headed for the other side of the large school. I walked down the hallways covered in row after row of gray or green lockers with chipped paint on the doors the newer one where not even painted anymore.
I walked into the office to see the principal there at the desk talking with the secretary. It was no secret that the two were having an affair but I was the only one who knew. I smiled.

“
Principal Jake Ross it is so nice to see you I have come for any homework I may have missed while I was gone.”

“
Ah yes Drake Sarges I had missed you while you were gone, I am sorry that your parents passed away. Anyway please follow me I have your homework back in my office. I followed him and saw that he did not in the least care about what had happened to me that day. His attention was focused on the fact that he did not his wife to find out about the affair that he was having. I wonder if I can fix this maybe I can set him straight when we got into his office I closed the door behind him and delved deep into his mind erasing any feelings he had towards any other females and making sure that he was completely loyal to only his job and his family. I released him a few seconds later and grabbed my homework sitting on his desk. I quietly left the office leaving him to call his lovely wife on my way out. I wiped the affair from the secretary’s mind as well so now no one really did now and it never happened, I smiled.
