“Wait
you forgot to mention that I am in a war with the Star empire. I recall that name from my dreams, so I met their young leader. She wants peace with us tell me why do we fight her kind?”

“
I do not know to be honest that was one of your many plans you are the only one who knows that answer Drake.”

“
I see, well then, I do not know what to think about all of this crap yet but you will not start a fight with them. Do you understand? I need to think this all over, so please leave me for now.”

“I will
tell you that you will need to know that there is a security force here to protect you Drake. One of the things you ordered, I believe that you will need them you will meet them shortly. I will leave as you wish now, good evening my lord.”

I sat at my big wooden desk and thought about this crap
. So it seemed I am fifteen and I rule a Demon empire as does Azure well this is just great I need to do something. But what is the question the best thing to do is let things take their natural course I think.

Chapter 3

I went to school and went about my day. I saw Azure this morning but I decided I did not want to bring up who I am if she suspects already that is just too much trouble for me at this point. I walked up to her and took her hand surprising her. I walked with her to my locker and kept holding her hand.

“
I need to know Azure how do you feel about me? I like you a lot but what about you do you like me.”

“
I do not quite understand Drake. Yes, I like you but what do you mean by all of this?”

“
Well I was wondering if you would maybe want to be my girlfriend I hope you understand now.”

“
Um you mean like we are in a relationship is that what you want I do not know?”

“
Of course that is what I mean Azure, but it is up to you that is why I’m asking.”

“
Well I guess I know what that involves and I accept your proposal to be you girlfriend Drake. But you better keep being nice and the sweetheart that you have been so far ok or I will not talk to you again.”

“
Fine I agree Azure, thank you.” I pulled her close and gave her a long hug, as they did not much like people kissing in school to tell the truth. I smelled her lovely hair it smelled of exotic spices.

Today I was
studying for my written driving exam that the school offered as usual I passed the first time. But it seemed Azure was having trouble with some of the signs. She passed, but not as well as she would have liked.

“
I just don’t understand all of this driving crap we don’t drive where I am from Drake we ride animalslikehorses.”

“
Yea I guess that would be confusing if you were raised on a ranch with the four legged animals.”

“
Yea I know I’m glad you understand Drake that is why you are so sweet.”

“
Can I come to your house this time maybe Azure I want to see where you live?”

“
I can’t my place is such a mess right now I need to clean it up first sorry Drake but what else do you want to do?”

“
I guess we can go get some Mexican food I know a place near here we can go after school I will show you more of what I know on the local road system. After school we drove around a bit in my car, I noticed the driver was a girl who looked to be in her early twenty’s.  We arrived at the taco joint a short time later. I had a big surprise, a taco with cheese. I liked the spicy meat they used it was more of a taco stand to be honest I got a burrito for Azure and she scarfed it down. I got a few more for her and we left.               I got back into the car after helping Azure in, “so tell me Azure what is your home like?” I handed her a napkin so she could clean her mouth.

“
Thank you Drake not much to say really I do not talk about home much. It is a painful memory for me. I have not seen my home in a few years I have been moved around a lot but I think I will plant roots in this town.”

“
What are you looking for Azure?” I smiled.

“
I want to find someone but I wonder If I ever will I honestly do not know where to start. I know they are in this town but nothing more maybe at our school also.”

“
Why are you looking for this person Azure? I’m just wondering I have met quite a few people but no one like you Azure. Anyway that is not for me to pry into you can share if you want to I have quite a bit of time.”

“
Where are we going to now Drake I loved the food.”

“
Yea I know now we are going to the museum I want to show you the special exhibits they have on the Dinosaurs. They have been an interest to me for quite some time now. I have always wondered what wiped them out, it is one of my personal hobbies that I try and find all of the answers.” We arrived a short time later. “This is the place. I love the old way they used to build these buildings at the turn of the century my home is based on that design if you did not notice Azure.”

“I noticed that it
had an older feel to it but I did not think it was that old Drake. My home is almost a hundred years old I am proud of it.”

“
Now come inside.” I held the door open for Azure and took her hand. We went to the teen exhibit area. “I wanted to show you my work I have an exhibit here that I made it shows how I believe the Earth was hit by an asteroid that killed most of the life on earth so long ago.” I pressed the button that played the video. I saw the wonder in her eyes as she saw Earth hit by an asteroid and the results of it all on in the self-contained 3D exhibit. “I hope you like my work it is still only a theory but it is mine. I got first place in the science fair for the exhibit but I think they just like the tech I used to make it. I love computers! I graduated to them after I got tired of drawing.” I pulled out a folded up piece of paper and handed it to her. “I made this on that first day in class when you sat next to me.”

She
opened it up and felt so much emotion inside of herself to know this is how he saw her. The picture showed her covered by a brilliant shade of orange and her hair stuck out as a deeper red like fire. Her eyes were blue and her smooth skin as well as the fact that face showed such obvious caring that her people often remarked about her. She laid it down on the glass and grabbed Drake kissing him on the lips for a short time. “That is how much I like your gift, you are so kind Drake. Do you even realize that?”
 

“Not reall
y I have been alone most of my life except for Sandy of course. Do I need to be jealous of her Drake I can be but I do not think I need to be.”

“
You are right she is just my friend I do not feel that way about her as I do about you.”

I went home
and Azure got her own ride from the museum. Fara was in the car next to me she was a tall woman of about six foot three and was athletic most of my kind were she had real blue eyes mine were orange showing me to be of royal birth. Her hair was long and blond it feel loosely around her head and I kept mine in a braid today it was just like the drawing I kept it in my pocket.

“
I feel that this human you are seeing it distracting you from your goal. Azure you need to find the Demon Lord so we can talk to him.”

“
My efforts to talk with his second Samual have all been refused he will not see me, only saying, ‘We must appeal to his Lord for them to stop the invasion of the Star empire your empire Azure Star anyway what must I do now?’ I have felt him at school but I have not been able to locate him yet he I well hidden from me Fara but I will continue my search. How is that man from the other night who had his mind used at the meeting by him?”

“
He is fine my lady but he has no idea how the Demon lord entered his mind like he did.”

“
That is not much of a surprise I hear the young man has quite the amount of power. What do we know of the Demon Empire Fara I wonder?”

“
Nothing other than what they tell us. They only appeared a few years ago on a bunch of uninhabitable planets that are now somehow livable, probably through terraforming.

“
I am not that sure Fara I wonder if this Demon Lord is not something else we know nothing of what most of them look like. They stay on their ships the entire time they have been in our space.”

“
That is beside the point Azure but I believe that there is far more going on in this invasion than we know about they have not killed a single one of our citizens so the question is what do he really want.”

“
Yes I am aware of that and if I had to guess I would say they want me to surrender the empire without violence Fara.”

“
Don’t be fooled Azure you know you can’t do that the people would never want to be enslaved to a foreign power. We are almost home we have set up eyes around the property so we will know if someone steps onto the land.”

“
I do not think they will work but good that might help. Now I need some sleep I have another date with Drake tomorrow.”

“
Azure come with me to the meeting room we need to talk about this young man that has caught your attentions.” She sat in the meeting room. “Now Azure do you realize that you have an obligation to your people before yourself?”

“Y
es I know that but Drake makes my heart race and makes me feel so alive I really like him Fara. I will not stop seeing him he called me his girlfriend I was so happy when he asked me. He is so polite about it too he asked permission my opinion matters to him.”

“
So you like him, then I understand we will need to announce this to your people then they need to know you are no longer single Azure, and you need to be honest about yourself and what a relationship with you would mean for him. He would need to fulfill his duties as your husband one day.”

“
Come on now Fara I am not sure it is that serious yet.”

“
You know that our kind only falls in love with one person and I know for you Azure it is him. You need to tell him soon so he knows what he has to do.”

“
Yea I guess that is to be expected I do need to tell him but I just wonder how he would take it humans can fall in love more than once.”

She went to her room in a bad mood she
had to lay all of this pressure on Drake, and she always knew it would happen. She fell for him the first time she saw him in school. But at least she could wait until she was eighteen to get married to Drake, it would be quite nice if he were to say yes. She went out onto the porch and stared into the sky.

“
So you want to marry Drake do you Azure tell me why you want to do such a thing.”
She looked around startled then I realized it was in her head.
Now you get it I knew you were a smart girl when I first saw you Azure.”

“
Who is this? What do you want with Drake and me?”

“
I want to talk is all Azure you need to know that I am closer to you than you think. I am the Demon lord and also not human Azure, but do you love Drake? I feel it but I need to hear it.”

“
What concern is that to someone like you and if you must know yes I love Drake Sarges now explain this to me.”

“
Move to your left Azure and you will come to me. I will explain that it is what we on earth call a leap of faith.

I decided as on an impulse to do it
. I jumped over the railing of the balcony. When I opened my eyes I sat in a large office chair someone sitting in front of me my breath caught in my throat.

“
I did not expect you to be this surprised Azure I love you to if you meant it. But please sit back down I have to talk to you about a few things.”

“
Why Drake is this some kind of cruel joke to torment me. I will sit but you do not come near me do you understand.”

“
I think that is a good idea now sit please as you just found out I am the Demon lord, but that does not matter to me I want to talk about how I feel.”

“
No you need to tell your people to leave the air space of the Star Empire Drake.”

“
I will but we must still talk there is more going on here than even I know about. You see I used to be human well almost but when I slept I became the Demon Lord and I was on my home planet Demonica. And I had some kind of plan that this was all a part of but I do not know what that plan is. For some reason I have the power but no idea who I am Azure I am as alone now as I was with my parents alive.”

“
You can’t be serious Drake you are a ruler of a powerful empire but you are alone and you would admit that to me do you expect me to feel sorry for you.”

“
No Azure I do not I killed my parents with the power I did not know I had, that I do not know why I have. There is more to me than I know I feel it something guides me towards an unknown future I need you at my side. We are friends and I love you I have dreamed of you I know you Azure as you know me. I have not deceived you I am telling you the truth now when it matters I feel it in you the love for me but I can remove it and maybe it will be as if we never met and you can love another.”
